LNBS: This feels like we’re coiling to strike.

Am I just a few too many drinks in tonight, or does it seem like Veach is getting ready to take a huge swing for a stud either in the draft or trading for an elite WR or edge guy?

AJ Brown said KC tried to trade for him last offseason, so it was clearly a Tyreek thing and Veach wants an elite WR. He also knows he has a hole at DT that would be playing next to Jones and George…adding a difference maker there like a Justin Simmons or Quinnen Williams would be incredible.

I may be crazy…but I think Veach is itching to add another blue chip guy to this team.

Like…a really big swing.

Guys I can see him targeting for a trade because they become FAs next year…or their QB has a payday coming up and they can be persuaded to move a valuable piece…or a scheme change…or I’m sure some of these I’m just dreaming.

Nick Bosa
Quinnen Williams
Tristan Wirfs
Brian Burns
Justin Jefferson
Brandon Aiyuk
Montez Sweat
Jeffrey Simmons

Or maybe Veach targets some guys he wants and is willing to swing for the fences for that the other team might be willing to extract value while it’s still there like Jaylen Waddle or a Devonte Smith.

Maybe it’s not a current NFL player he’s targeting. Maybe he’s planning on making a big splash on draft night with a big trade up and that’s why the pre combine QnA was built with purely softball questions and answers.

No way 10 draft picks make this roster. He’s stacked the roster with quality starters and depth across the board. Adding quality over quantity makes a ton of sense.

Even using this years 1 and 3 and next years first to move wayyy up I bet is absolutely in play.

What way to introduce a new weapon could be better than the world champs trading up to get you in the top 10-15 picks with the draft being in KC and being able to go right to the facility and meet Mahomes, Andy, Nagy, Spags and Veach right away? Incredible to think about.

The holes are being filled with (mostly) cheap FAs. We're short a proven RT (you don't give $80M to a RT), DE/DT (whatever Omenihu doesn't play), a vet WR, and a couple of RBs. We'll need about $9.8M (according to Spotrac) to sign our draft class, so that eats up PMII's restructure. The Jones extension is a mystery.

My guess Veach is going to make a big move in the draft and tell any "star WR" to kick rocks unless it's on a team friendly deal.

The Jones extension likely creates in the ballpark of $20 M in cap space. Another superstar is going to be added to this roster it is just a matter of when. OBJ, DHop, Tunsil or some other unknown.

One big move at receiver and one big move at tackle and we are in business. Fill in the holes with bargain shopping in FA and the draft.

Nick Bosa?!?!

Dude is in the 4th year of a 5 year rookie contract. Dude, would break the Chiefs worse than a silicon valley bank.

Feels like we are just trying to fill out the roster with quality depth and they are doing a good job at it.

I don’t expect a strike outside of a trade up in the draft.

Move up to get a LT, maybe. We are not going all in for 1 year of Mahomes prime then losr 1-2 years of his prime years rebuilding. That would be a crime and a waste. As long as Mahomes is upright, we can win a SB.

I wouldn't consider Dhop a big 'splash'. He'd be here 2 years at the most. I'd still applaud the deal though.

Remember the Veach dogma......you're big splash at WR goes against his formula for consistently winning year after year.

Elite QB
Great O-Line
JAG WR'S & RB'S
Solid Defense

People still think they’re going to trade up and take a tackle. Taylor is going to be the LT.

The numbers alone he would put up with Mahomes would put him in the HOF in a few years

I don’t get the Pittman love. He’s basically all they have outside Alec pierce. Why ship him out while Ballard trying to save his job?

Why are you and others keep pining for an elite WR? Yeah it was cool watching Hill/Mahomes make magic but those days are gone. That was in the rookie contract era.

We are now in his prime. Every year we will have a chance at a SB. We dont need to mortgage the future for a shot at a SB.

I think you could hedge it a bit and not take a huge swing

See if the commanders would send you chase young

He would fit with the young defense

You are telling me.... AS A FAN.... You wouldn't want to see Mahomes with a Megatron/Rice/TO/Moss level WR..... (Hill didn't have the Size or perfect hands)
