Run Defense SUCKS

All other bullshit aside, we only ran 51 plays to their 71.

We had the ball less than 10 minutes in the 2nd half.

IF we even make it to the playoffs with this horrid run D, we don't make it out of wildcard weekend if they don't do something drastic.

Oh, Spagnuolo was so awful and one dimensional, it made me want Sutton back. Where were his "adjustments"?

Spags is as bad as advertised. Another crony hire by Reid. Might as well have kept Sutton.

If the offense is scoring they can't run 45 times to amass 180 yards. Should never happen against chiefs offense.
They just quit passing in the 2nd half. I'll bet Brisset didn't throw more than 10 passes in the 2nd half.

Spagnulo didn't shut down their passing game so much as THEY shut it down, because they didn't need it. They just ran, for first down after first down.

The Chiefs’ ability to have TOP is not affected by what the defense or opposing team’s offense is doing nearly as much as it is affected by their own offense. We had plenty of chances to swing the TOP in our favor when we had the hall but couldn’t do anything at all. Our first three possessions of the second half were absolute garbage. Any score on any one of those and we may win the game. A TD just one and we more than likely win the game despite all the running stats.

So...you DON'T think that the run defense is a problem?

Because every now and again, your offense just has a shit game. Weather gets bad in January. Need to stop the run. How many 4th downs did they convert by running tonight? How many did WE convert by running?

I wish we had better defensive players upfront on the Dline. Thats where it all starts, I don’t give a **** about the linebackers now. Get the Dline right first.

Dline is soft as ****. We need more attitude. Guys that could fight off blocks and not get there shit continuously pushed in. And of course disciplined players ahem Chris Jones!! Like maintain and control your gap responsibilities. And until you don’t, you don’t deserve your 20 mill plus sorry.

If we don’t get this shit fixed, we’re always gonna suck on run D.

Right, what was I looking at - the run defense is FINE. Score more than the other team and you win. What was I thinking, .

Yeah, we had, what, 3 possessions in the 2nd half? With less than 10 minutes TOP, BECAUSE THEY HAD 6 AND 7 MINUTE DRIVES WHERE THEY RAN THE BALL AT WILL AND CONVERTED 4TH DOWNS BY RUNNING THE BALL??

Yeah, the run defense must be fine, what was I thinking?

In the second half we had three straight possessions where we could have tied or taken the lead but failed to do so. On those possessions we had the ball a total of just over six minutes. Those offensive possessions are why we lost the game, not what the defense did between them. Them playing keep away would be irrelevant if those six minutes of possession got us 10 points or so.

Run defense sucks. Run offense sucks. Pass defense sucks. Playcalling sucked tonight.
Our playmakers fumble the ball every other time they touch it. We commit too many penalties. The only positive I can take after that game is Mahomes. Guy is a warrior and fought through hell to even give us a shot. With our bumbling dipshit fat oaf linemen getting ownt every play and stepping on his leg, its a wonder he made it out alive tonight.

Lol run defense was avg. 4.0 ypc they just ran the ball a bagillion times.

The offense lost this game. Plain and simple. I didn't think that would be possible but just a terrible game by them. This is to be expected though. Ive always said Damien Williams is just a guy and he proved that again today but the loss of Sammy Watkins was HUGE. Everyone was covered all day. Mahomes did everything he could but we just didnt have the threats, even if as a decoy, to really exploit the Colts defense

It shouldn't be that surprising really. You were down your WR1 and WR2 leaving you with sub Top 60 WR options. Doubt we'll have another game all year without this many weapons.

^this^

The Colts had 70 yards rushing on their first two drives, I looked up at the totals later in the third and they only had 95 Yards. They then had success running again in the 4th after our ****ing defense was gassed for being on the field most of the third quarter due the the ****ing offense not doing a damn thing.

In the second half, they had an 11 play, 7 minute drive and a 14 play, 9 minute drive.

That's 16 minutes on two drives. 16 minutes that Mahomes sat on the sideline.

That's over one quarter of the game that was drained away by 2 Colts drives.

You're fooling yourself if you don't see that as a major problem, and probably the biggest factor in losing at home to the Colts. Everyone knew they were going to run the ball...but our defense couldn't do a ****ing thing about it. They got dragged up and down that field...all night long.
