2022 is the best they are going to be for a few years...

Maybe Walton can pay Sean Payton $15-$20 million a year...to lure him out of retirement. 2023 would be the season to do it...give him a year to clean house then draft a QB in 2024. Get Wilson off the books in 2025...
Wilson’s contract is basically a 3 year deal. So they can get out of it in Spring of 2025 but that would result in just under $50 million in dead money for his remaining 4 years.

So they are screwed either way bc billionaire Walmart man can’t just “buy out” Wilson without cap repercussions in that scenario. Dead money effects the cap no matter what.

It’s a beautiful thing for us chiefs fans

I've been trying to tell the donktards that there is no way any franchise trades away the single most important player on their team unless they believe he's done (or nearly so). Now the donks are ****ed for the foreseeable future. L-o-v-e it!

I thought 2025 was their out year...with Wilson costing $18 million in dead money if he's cut.

At any rate...it's very satisfying to be discussing how the Donks can already get out of his contract just two games into his first season.

There you go...

I'm just going to sit back and see how these next three games go against the 49ers, Raiders and Colts. There's quite a bit for them to improve upon, without question.

Denver is 9th in team rushing @ 126 YPG with a 4.9 YPC average.
Denver is 16th in team rushing attempts - that's criminal and I said it before the season started, Denver needs to establish Williams early and often with a healthy mix of Gordon. Those two guys need to be the focus for this offense. Aside from the OL, a QBs best friend is a potent rushing attack and that is something Denver needs to better establish.

That 4th ranked OL is currently 19th with 5 sacks allowed...can you name the edge rushers for Seattle/Texans? Funny...PFF had them, coincidentally, ranked 19th at the end of last season.

Remember, those offensive stats are against two teams expected to be picking top 5...so it skews the overall rankings. It's premature unless they are playing teams with top rosters...

PFF also had Bridewater/Wilson ranked 18th/19th for 2021...if he can no longer effectively scramble and perform off-script magic...he becomes a somewhat pedestrian QB.

Russ made out like a bandit...designed. He is "Brilliant".

Ownership in disarray, need buyer's, hires coach to get Aaron, back up option = other big name QB (no need to think about current ability/trashing team), just name, LAND big ownership, HYPE HIMSELF, no pre-games to judge for contract, gets HUGE contract, cashes check guaranteed for $165m, DONE.

He doesn't give a crap, not sure I would either.

Winner = Russ
Loser = fans, ownership (long run), draft picks (team)

edit: forgot cap hit (team)

I mean the NFL gift-wrapped the first two games...and the third...only Garoppolo is starting now. Lance would have been in his third NFL start...JG has been to a SB.

NFL Inc. tried to get you guys off to a fast start...like they did last year. Only difference is you had 27-13 and 26-0 wins.

Donks have looked every bit on par with the dregs of the NFL...I guess it IS possible to spend $250 million, give up two drafts and 3 players and actually become worse. Not an easy task but this is shaping up to be one of...if not the worst trades in modern NFL history.

Wilson does not look good...I thought he'd look better against bottom-tier franchises. He needs to immediately be an elite, "carry the team on his shoulders" QB to justify what he cost...not a "take ball out of your hands" and pray for a 64 yard miracle.

It's not that the Doinks are 1-1..it's how they looked getting there. These first 8 games were supposed to be a lay-up for a real contender...the schedule gets ruff to finish out.

They look like a legit 7-10 team to me...

The only disaster left to complete this masterpiece is for Denver to finish bottom 5-8 and Seattle to use the Donks 1st round pick on a blue-chip, franchise QB.
Why did the NFL want to get Denver off to a fast start last year?

Yeah, nothing says “franchise QB” like protecting him by running the ball.

Because they had a team they had lost 11 straight to in their division? That has the 2nd longest PO drought in the NFL...

That's not good for generating new fans or maintaining an invigorated base.

NFL PR deliberately tried to downplay Mahomes this off-season...that's how good he is.

Who wants to see KC with a 5th straight home AFCCG? There are 15 other cities to think about...

It worked...Donks fans actually had visions of the play-offs for about 6 weeks...they had the same visions again with landing Wilson.

I don't think that's how I phrased it. Suggesting that you can just win consistently and win it all without substantial balance and the threat of a strong ground game just doesn't make sense.

Denver has a strong RB duo, not taking advantage of that whether you have a the #1 or #20 QB in the league seems like a waste and poor coaching.

I believe you forgot the most important part; the constant build up of how good the Broncos were going to be has probably made Vegas a lot of money on people who bet on the Broncos to win the west based on all the hype.

The NFL is all about the $, fans are secondary at this point.

The Chiefs and Bills are the least balanced team in the NFL. Running the ball is a crutch that teams without good QB’s use.

You think Albert Haynesworth cares about juking the Redskins in 2009? He's drinking on a beach somewhere..
Denver fans are going to keep telling themselves that he's elite no matter what happens on the field. They won't be able to bring themselves to admit that they threw away that much and paid elite money for an average QB.
