He sounded weary, Mr. sparky, and, for that, I do not blame him. He's an old coach and he's all cried out.
The Barber injury may well be career ending. He's seeing a specialist in Birmingham - a well known location for career ends. They're preparing to play w/o Priest, but DV says that Priest has surprised them before. (My personal hope is that the DO NOT allow him to play Sunday.) Blaylock is practicing this week. LJ is consulting with the Pampers folks in an effort to select specialized undergarments that will not impede his flashing speed. Indicated that the problem on D is too much focus on the run to the detriment of attention to the pass D. Also claimed that scheme problems affecting the coordination among and between the back 7 - not talent - is to blame. Says the Dline is playing well and that the run D is improved because they've focused on that, but that the pass D is not working well due to the afore-mentioned scheme issues. Says that NO is good on offense and can beat anybody, anytime, so they're taking them seriously. Too bad that no one is taking the Chiefs seriously as well. Conference lasted a mere 17 minutes or so. Normally, they're around 30. An indicator of his frame of mind. FAX THE DISAPPOINTED |

That's too bad about Barber, but it's not shocking. It looked bad.
I'm glad Blaylock is practicing. (Does anyone else fight the urge to call him "Mookie?")

Er I don't think it's career ending, but if Barber does have a bad ACL injury I can see it knocking him out for this year and half of next year I'd imagine... and by missing half of next year he'd miss training camp and still wouldn't be 100%....

Where in the conference does it say career ending???.
All dick said was it was a possible season ending.he went to the specialist in Ala. because its the same guy that did work on his other knee, but he did not rule out the possibility of a return this year, although its very doudtful. No one knows yet.they havent heard. DV quote. "hes going down there for a total and final evaluation and then will make a decision, but hes definitely out and maybe permanetly out" to me that means out for the season not for his career.

In my highly depressed state of mind, I defined "permanent" as "always" or "forever". By "out", I thought he meant "not playing football". Then, my feeble intellect connected the two concepts: "forever" & "not playing football" and posted this concept inaccurately as "career ending". Please accept my humble apologies. I misinterpreted DV's statement. I am very embarrased by this misstep and humbly ask your forgiveness. In future, I will triple check my facts prior to posting on this board and will post only verbatim quotes from this point forward. There is no excuse for my error, any misleading impression was unintentional, and I would now like to be hung by my nuts until I am braindead. FAX THE SHAMED |

Don't worry about it, I think the word "permanent" there is kind of vague, we'll see what the final prognosis is. Oh yeah, and we don't usually hang people by their nuts until they are braindead until they screw up a second time.
