2019 Free agency Thread

We don't really have one of these yet, so figured we could use this as a place to discuss potential free agent acquisitions and what we would like to look for them to bring in.

If any of you guys are interested, heres a good place to do some research.

I was as well, but we were in the decided minority.

And did he get pancaked every snap? Well no. But define 'get his shit pushed in' because I saw that dude get stonewalled at the LOS pretty much every time I focused on him during a play. He was bad. Was he fighting uphill? Sure - but if you're not grading him on a curve, he was just flat-ass bad and he showed no burst or polish.

He needs a LOT of development still, both physically and from a technique standpoint. There's ample reason to be concerned that he'll wash out by year 3.

Nnadi showed promise. I wouldn't say he's proven anything other than he has some potential. He had some big plays. He was also part of our woeful run defense.
Did an interesting case study on Nnandi. Our run defense problems were mostly when he was off the field.

I'm not as down on Speaks as some of you. He was played out of position. He has a year of experience now and an off season to work on his body after seeing what it takes to play in the NFL. If the new D plays to his natural strengths as it should and he has worked on the things he found out he was behind on then he should take a major step forward.

I like Nnadi a lot.

That was a great pick and frees us up to look for more of a specialist on the interior line for rotational/pass-rush duties in the draft. We don't need an 'all things' DT from high in the draft now, we can look for a Dre'mont Jones type who can create havoc in the middle but may struggle in run situations.

Nnadi puts that interior run defense on lock. That's a long-term ballplayer right there.

Maybe Tyson Jackson has forever scarred me, but he wasn't getting blown off the LoS like ive seen with other young DL's.

I know, i know. Small victories. But i think that shows that at the very least he can be a serviceable run defender.

It's hard to see him developing any burst. But he should be able to polish up, get better at his lean, and develop physically.

If he's cheap.

I have to wonder if he's priced himself too high. He had a down year last year despite playing alongside Donald. He wasn't much of a pass rushing force with 4.5 sacks, and the Rams run defense was something horrible.

At 32 y/o, he's not the guy he was, though he may think it ($$$).

He's also stated that he wants to stay on the west coast.
