In case I, picks would be #32, 33, and 34, if Alex Cobb of Rays signs for $50 million guaranteed.

Kansas City will likely have 5 of the top 40-45 picks in the draft, and the bonus pool money should rival that of the teams drafting 1-3 in the 2017 draft. This should give KC tremendous flexibility in acquiring talent that otherwise might slip or not be "signable."

2018 Draft Names to Watch

RHP Kumar Rocker, N Oconnee HS, Georgia.

Possibly goes top 10 but is a big, physical SP with ace potential. Moore and co. will be all over him if he slips a bit and could offer top 10 money at No. 16

Kelenic is the top prep bat, toolsy OF. Royals would be ecstatic to have shot at him.

1B Triston Casas, American Heritage HS (FL).

Tremendous raw power, best in HS bats. Royals typically like HS arms or HS bats with "special" tools. He qualifies.

RHP Carter Stewart, Eau de Gallie HS (Ga).

Another big, physical specimen with huge upside. More likely to be available mid-first than Rocker.

Yeah, I don’t understand why someone writes a story but doesn’t even remotely elude to WHY he got kicked out. That’s like some saying “well, I killed a guy last night”, then just walking away. So strange.

The article did state why the scout was removed:

Media was barred from the IMG Academy. The scout was told he was not welcome but could set up a session with an individual player at the player's discretion, several people familiar with the situation said. The people spoke on condition of anonymity because no statements were authorized.

First off, it's the Player's Union, so they can set up rules as they see fit, especially considering these players are all unsigned. Secondly, it was at the IMG Academy, who didn't invite scouts.

Much ado about nothing.

Players almost ALWAYS hate having to talk to the press, so any sort of spring training situation which does not involve a bunch of reporters roaming their clubhouse is a rare luxury. More importantly, though, I suspect the union does not want its free agents being the subject of sad stories in which they’re cast as hopeless or pathetic or facing the end of their careers.

I think equating media to scouts is a stretch. Your link has a tweet from nick Cafardo asking if scouts are also barred, so it appears others don't think they are the same.
