Pugs’ 2019 Chiefs Mock

For those who are bored out of their mind....

R1(22)—TRADE WITH BALTIMORE (Chiefs acquire 22nd overall pick for R1(29) and KC’s 2020 R2 selection: Greedy Williams, CB, LSU—Veach has called Spagnuolo a secondary guy, and he even said they’ve looked at DBs more than any other position. Bashaud Breeland suggested that they plan to play a lot of man coverage based on his conversations with the staff. They have an immediate and long term need at CB. Insert Greedy Williams, who in this culture while being mentored by fellow LSU alum Tyrann Mathieu, might just become a legitimate shutdown CB on the perimeter.

R2(61): Charles Omenihu, DE, Texas—This guy steps in and may start from day one at the LEO spot. I think they end up rotating pass rushers often, but Omenihu gives them some immediate juice off of the edge with versatility to move around.

R2(63): Mecole Hardman, WR, Georgia—Speed to burn. Veach adds another dynamic weapon for Mahomes moving into the future.

R3(80)—TRADE WITH SEATTLE (Chiefs acquire 80th overall pick for R3(92), R5(167), and R6(214): Kahale Warring, TE, SD State—Huge need means Veach goes up and gets their guy via trade. Warring should be solid Kelce insurance here entering 2019 with long term upside.

R6(201): Daniel Wise, 3T, Kansas—Daly has history with Wise’s brother in NE, so he may like him enough to give his brother a shot. The Chiefs could use more depth with their interior rush, and Wise is a true 3T who offers some versatility to move around up front—something this defense likely wants to do.

R7(216): Will Harris, S, Boston College—Athletic, doesn’t have to play any one specific safety role. Upside long term.
