Poise When You Become Unpoised

The last 2 weeks but today especially has shown this team has matured to the next level, imo.

Last week we know what happened but we never really became unpoised so much as we just got flat out beat early.

This week however we saw a new sign of maturity in this team. We start the game without our best pass rusher and no Bailey either. Oakland drove right down the field and scored.

We responded. Then we really started to become unhinged. Allen, goes down, we started giving up sacks, Maclin fumbles, Kelce fumbles and we find ourselves going into half time down by 7 when we should have been up by 3 at least.

Then the 2nd half we respond and then go right back to getting in our own way. Penalties, weak or otherwise and some sloppy, sloppy, sloppy Special Teams. And we lost DeVito.

But throughout our unpoised play we never lost our poise. Smith kept the offense on track, Maclin made some great catches as well as Kelce. The defense stepped up and created 3 key turnovers.

In the last 2 weeks we have come from behind twice in each game, 3 times today specifically. This team has something about them right now we haven't seen yet under Reid. Smith is looking more and more like a solid QB, not just a game manager but a play maker. Our line continues to deal with the shuffling and they are producing regardless of who is playing and who isn't.

They are playing with shades of the KC Royals in the way of never quitting and playing some great team ball and picking each other up when something goes against us. In other words they are playing through their mistakes and adversity and coming out on top.

At 1-5 I never expected to see this team playing like they are especially after losing JC. Then again, losing JC may have been a blessing in disguise as it has forced other players to step up. And they have.

That is actually a great comparison. Damn Royals would never die. Though I hated losing to them last year, I respect the hell out of their never say die attitude.

Whoever said the Royals were hogging all the mojo up until the World Series win was right.

These Chiefs are winning now in the same fashion.

They are refusing to give up at any time now.

The thread title sounds like something from a deodorant commercial.
