When should Spags be fired?

Call it an overreaction if youd like. The he was brought in to improve the defense and it's only gotten worse. Even in our 4 wins the defense wasnt better than last year for the most part.

If Booker/Lindsay go for over 180 rushing like 4 other teams have against us, and Rodgers & Co. come in and out up 30 it's time to pull the plug on this clown.

My hope is that Rivera becomes available when we have a need and he takes over for Spags.
I’d love to have Rivera but if I could have my dream guy it would be McDermott.

I think he’d be the perfect fit with Andy and I love what he’s done with Buffalo’s defense (specifically against the Pats).

This big of a defensive overhaul is going to take time.

No way would they even consider firing Spag until he’s been given a legit shot at doing the job they hired him for.
Personally, I don't think they'll even consider firing him for at least 3 more years. I was just responding to the people that have already decided he's no good with an extreme hot take of my own, just like everyone else. Isn't that how it's done around here most of the time?

If I was as bad at my job as some of these losers I would be extremely embarrassed.

But hey, the ol’ boy network keeps plunging these turds.

Andy Reid could have basically had Rivera by hiring Wilks in the offseason. You can't tell me the Browns offer was more intriguing than the Chiefs. For some dumb reason it took the Chiefs an eternity to realize Sutton wasn't the answer. The day after the AFC championship they should have sat him down Clockwork Orange style and forced Reid to watch that defense on loop over and over and over again.

I want to say Friday morning, but will wait until tomorrow night to make it official. If Lindsay goes off for 2 bills, it needs to happen.

Disagree. This is not Spags fault whatsoever. We have very little talent on D and Spags probably feels hoodwinked by Reid to some degree.

Reid ain't firing Spags if it was pulling teeth by the public to get Reid to fire Sutton. Just ain't happenin. Spags is a buddy and we know Reid doesn't fire buddies because it's on him, right?

Everyone needs to get this thought out of your minds. History says Hunt and Reid are beyond patient and move at geologic speed when it comes to dismissals. Unless you think Veach is going to get froggy and do it (lol, does Veach even have the authority to fire the DC?).

Better to think of realistic ways to improve the defense. Spags is going to be here this year, next year, the year after that, and maybe the year after that.

Of course not. Andy runs the show now and this is just like his later years in philly. Shitty defenses and mediocre drafts.

Didn't Andy fire McDermott in Philly? Wonder if he burned that bridge, not that the Bills would let him go.

Another stark way of looking at the talent on defense for the Chiefs. How many first round picks are in the starting 11? 0? The only one I can think of is Lee.

I was never in favor of Spags hiring. Let's get that straight. But it's hard to fault him much. We destroyed our pass rush (Houston and Ford) for no god damned reason. #1 in sacks last year - and our fans didn't appreciate it. You don't just change things just to change things. It can always get worse.

Frank Clark has been a disaster. And we did little to improve our LB corp. The writing was on the wall that this was not going to get this much better, especially for the run defense. It's hard for me to hate on Spags too much due to our personnel short comings.

With that said, we need to trade for a shut down corner so we can be more aggressive shutting down the run as needed. I still like our defense better than last year because it at least seems we are slightly better against the pass, but we are still penalty prone.
