Given the success of Russell Wilson, I don't know why more teams don't play the qb situation like Seattle. Trubisky, Wentz, baker mayfield, Dalton... All qbs who put teams into shaky second contract situations because there was no alternative. I'll never really understand the mentality that you're set at QB until you know you have an elite qb.
If the Colts play this like Seattle it's a great move. The trade value is not that different from what they traded for Charlie Whitehurst. The colts are paying some dollar to Wentz but so did Seattle with Matt Flynn. Big difference is Seattle didn't settle. So question is, did the Colts just settle for Wentz which has some upside to it maybe. Or will they keep swinging away for a qb? |

Seems like a low risk trade.
The guy did look like he was suffering from PTSD by the end of the year.

Haven't talked to my brother about this yet. But it might explain why he hasn't called me in a couple days. Colts fans must be facepalming irl right now.

It's wild how far and fast Wentz and Goff have fallen. None the less at the same time. Makes you wonder why they ever got those contracts. Those two are linked at the hip forever.

I wonder if Ballard is done. Swing that 1st to the Ravens for Orlando Brown Jr. and suddenly they have a load on that left side along with Nelson to keep Wentz upright.

Kinda get the 2013 Chiefs/90s Chiefs vibe from Ballard. Build around a serviceable QB and you'll always have a good record.

It will get awful interesting in that front office if they keep #21 and Mac Jones is sitting there.

Eh, given the value of quarterbacks I think this seems like a pretty even trade. Wentz is a risk, but at one point he was viewed as a top quarterback, and it wasn't that long ago. If you're not drafting high enough to have good odds in the draft, you do this and hope that you get lucky.
