About the only cigars I have ever tied into, other than a few Cuban Cohiba's before a few years ago, were nasty stock. I started flying to Belize every year on vacation and while I was there, I started trying several different varieties and was pleasantly surprised. At this point I have two humidors and several different selections. I still don't smoke that many, but I break one out on Friday nights, or when the boys are over for a beer. Are any of you guys into cigars?

For a real nice easy to smoke medium bodied cigar, try the La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amor Duque.
Also the Romeo and Julieta 1875 Reserva Real Torpeedo.

CigarPage has one of their $19.99 5 pack deals going on. This one is for large ring cigars. Selection isn't bad... That Camacho Triple Maduro 660 is a steal at that price. Highly recommend that cigar if you haven't tried it. Super dark and toothy.

Do you like the RyJ Romeo? One of my favorites in the Robusto. The 5 x 54 is about a perfect size IMO.

Anyone use the PerfecDraw? It is a freaking game changer. You can find it on sale for ~ $30 and it pays for itself in no time if you get a cigar with a tight draw.

I’m not aware of any cigar that was alleged to have “plume” that was seen under microscope and it wasn’t actually mold.

I had plume on one of my Liga Privada's early this year and the second time on a My Father Le Bijou 1922.

The next time it occurs, I will take some photos.

I own one of those quad metal tools that looks like a skinny flashlight with a small punch on one end, large punch on the other, a double prong nubber inside and a long draw tool with barbed edges on the other.

So I jinxed myself. Bought a tubo Montecristo White and sure enough when I removed the cedar sleeve it had the white powder/ dust. I usually stay away from tubos bc I've heard they are more prone to it. I'm still leaning towards the mold side of the debate, but I did wipe it off and smoke it and it was fine (it was on the wrapper only, not the foot). I just think that if plume was scientifically proven cigar companies would be pushing that narrative like crazy in their advertisements. 'Look how well our cigars plume out with age' type of thing, but I haven't seen that. Either way I tend to think it is harmless if it isn't in the filler.

Beautiful day out today. I'm enjoying a cigar and a good book outside. Gotta make the most of the weather before winter kicks in. Smoking the H. Upmann 1844 reserve now.

I think they are afraid too many casual smokers will mistake mold for plume.

Also I find it occurs a little dryer cigar where the moisture on the wrapper dries.

Ambassador Cigars in Paradise Valley is a high end cigar shop and lounge with multiple cigars displaying bloom at different times. They have over $1.5 million in inventory in the giant walk in humidor and they wouldn't let them stay if it was mold.
