A couple of days????? They're still at the gates with fire and pitchforks ready to burn Arrowhead down and take heads. And they'll probably do just that if we don't draft Geno. Or they'll just keep proclaiming that they've disowned the team, and then post in every single thread about the team, every single day..lol

He won't have it that easy in the NFL. But I get your point.

Questions I have does he have the variety of moves to get off blocks and keep the freight train coming with a motor that keeps going at the NFL level ?

I hate it when people say, "He won't do that in the NFL", as if blown blocking assignments don't happen in the NFL.

He took that dude's head off, lol.

Earlier this week, as the Kansas City Chiefs were setting their schedule to host West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith on April 1, word emerged they were "fascinated" by the strong-armed prospect. They'd watched his every throw. They were enamored enough to say that the way he carried himself reminded them of a young Donovan McNabb.

That's what I reported Tuesday. The cries of "smoke screen" came loud and clear. Never mind that Smith was, to many, the draft's top QB. With Kansas City holding the No. 1 pick in next month's draft, skeptics doubted that coach Andy Reid, general manager John Dorsey and company viewed Smith in the same company as, say, Texas A&M tackle Luke Joeckel. But the words were real. And I trust the source.

But the caveats must be added regardless.

The truth? We won't know until draft day. And even then, we'll never know. Because maybe the Chiefs do view Smith like McNabb, who was the second overall pick in 1999. So in theory, they could take someone like Joeckel at No. 1 but still believe Smith to be the second-best player in this draft, like McNabb was.

Yahoo Sports' Jason Cole reports the Chiefs' ideal draft scenario would still involve trading the No. 1 overall pick.

"I certainly hope so," said a Chiefs source, referring to the availability of the Raiders' pick at No. 3. Ideally, Cole reports, Kansas City would trade down with Oakland. The Raiders would draft Geno Smith first overall, and the Chiefs would take Luke Joeckel or Eric Fisher at No. 3, while also netting a second-rounder for Branden Albert. If the Raiders truly love Smith, they may feel compelled to leapfrog the quarterback-needy Jaguars to secure Geno.

Oh Ian. You silly man.

For those who don't understand how this works;

Ian is giving bullshit smokescreen stories by his sources in the organization, such as the one about how the Chiefs are fascinated by Geno. In return, the source promises to continue being a source.

Here's a hypothetical: Reid and Dorsey have Joeckel (or any non-QB) as their #1 player and Geno as strong #2. They are quite confident that Geno will go to Oakland if they do not select him. Do you think that the near certainty of a QB they really like going to a division rival influences their selection at all?

I'd be inclined to say no, but what do you all think?

id laugh, if all this posturing to trade down by the chiefs, leads them to trading down to 3, and then grabbing barkley...

That would be effing hilarious. Of course we wouldnt see chiefscountry for a month, he would be beating off continually to his fat head of matt barkley....
