Superman/Batman movie coming in 2015

After decades of fighting evil solo, Batman and Superman will finally be teaming up on the big screen, sources confirm to The Hollywood Reporter.

Man of Steel director Zack Snyder will direct the tentpole with Henry Cavill returning as Superman. It is unclear who will play Batman in the new film. A release date of 2015 has been set, with a Flash movie appearing in 2016 and a Justice League movie in 2017.

Snyder's Man of Steel, which rebooted the Superman franchise, has grossed north of $600 million worldwide since it hit theaters this June.

Warner Bros. is about to bring together two of its most iconic heroes: Superman and Batman will unite in a new film, the follow-up to “Man of Steel,” set for release in 2015.

According to two sources with knowledge of the movie, Warner Bros. intends to announce the news at its Comic-Con International panel Saturday morning. Said a Warner Bros. spokesperson, “We don’t comment on rumors regarding these properties.”

“Man of Steel” director Zack Snyder is expected to reunite with screenwriter David S. Goyer and star Henry Cavill for the new film. It’s unlikely Christian Bale will step back into the bat suit, as the actor has indicated publicly that he has moved on from his days as Bruce Wayne.

“Man of Steel” producer and “Dark Knight” trilogy director Christopher Nolan is expected by some to produce the project, but the exact nature of his involvement is unclear.

The move marks the culmination of years of effort on the part of Warner Bros. and DC Comics to bring their superheroes together in a similar fashion to their primary competitor Marvel, which successfully combined its superheroes into a $1.5-billion box-office hit with “The Avengers.”

In the comic world, the two heroes are teaming up in a new series, “Batman/Superman,” by writer Greg Pak and artist Jae Lee.

All the Batman actors wore some kind of eye makeup.

Morgan Freeman told him the armor was lighter for movement and would have more separation for knives to get through.

Catwoman killed Max in Batman Returns by making out with an electrical cord, don't remember any complaints about that. If she didn't do something he would've blown Batman's head off with a shotgun.

Not like many Batman? Sure, a new take on the Dark Knight. A pussy? Hardly.

Taking the nuke to the Ocean, how else was he going to get the bomb out of the city before it completely destroyed Gotham? That's his job is to save Gotham right? Was he supposed to let the bomb go off and just sit there and say to Gordon and Catwoman, "Sorry guys, the audience won't like it if I fly this plane out over the ocean to get rid of this bomb." Also don't liken it to Adam West running around with a cartoony huge ass bomb around Gotham for fifteen minutes as the same thing.

All your gripes pretty much come from Dark Knight Rises, to call Nolan's Batman shit is pretty ridiculous and just nitpicking bullshit.

Batman's mission is to fight crime and injustice which are NOT limited to "organized crime," which is the opposite of what made him Batman in the first place, so the notion that "oh well he quit because there was no more organized crime.... until he got personally robbed" is bullshit because not only is that the complete opposite of what Batman would do, it makes him a selfish prick.

Yes, he killed Talia and Ras. tl;dr Nolan's Batman is nothing like Batman and is therefore shit. In fact, the first 2 minutes of Sherlock Holmes 2 is more like Batman than all three of Nolan's movies combined.

Need I go on? Yes, I understand that all the pseudo fanboys really love these movies and I'm sure you could probably count them as decent to even GOOD movies, but they aren't good BATMAN movies. At no point in any of those movies is there a moment where you go, "holy shit, THAT'S the ****ing Batman I know I love."

Listen to the Kevin Smith podcast when they go over this and then the one about Man of Steel (Kev actually defends both movies), they dissect them pretty well and rightfully shit on them, spot on most of the times.

Obviously, they go into it a lot more, and with additional information. The belief being that Nolan oversaw Man of Steel and is overseeing BvS, he obviously has a hand in the all the movie's storylines, and will have input in the storyline for Justice League 1 & 2 .


Even if it totally isn't completely plausible and unlikely, the theory and explanation are definitely entertaining.

That animated series was amazing. I watched an episode or two a few years ago when I was in my early 20s and it was still enjoyable.

I loved the episodes with Man-bat. Thought he was pretty cool.

Also the one where all of the villains are playing poker and reminiscing about the times they came closest to killing Bats.

Bruce Wayne is at the peak of human potential physically and mentally. It's not even close. So he isn't just some guy. Please stop. Either way he can't kill Superman but he can injure him for sure.
