Andrews and Andrews?

Or just Andrews?

And why were they up 23-9 or whatever in the 4th quarter if they sucked?

Are you telling me that you didn't have a bad feeling about the 2004 Chiefs when they stunk it up in the preseason on offense? I did. And it took them 8 games to get a win (including preseason).

Don't discount pre-season games. You definitely get an idea of talent and depth.

And if guys can ****ing catch the ball.
Watching how the team performs in individual situations is fine. The final score, however, doesn't really matter as the OP implies.

I just do not take that much stock in preseason.

Well, then you and I are different.

I like to see recievers run their routes and catch the football.

I like to see running backs fight for yards.

I like to see the special teams.

I like to see new talent.

I like to see the attitude of the team.

I've been watching preseason for 30 years and it's always informative.

I see what you are saying. I do, however, pay close attention to the 1st quarter.

I agree, most of the time it is pretty telling unless the other team is playing its starters for half the game or game planning the other team, but you can still get a good idea of how the players are doing individually, same as in practice. Players get cut after preseason games based on performance, same as in practice

And it also doesn't tell you 1 single thing about how teams will do in the regular season and we can show pre-season to regular season records that back that up over and over again. Teams do not scheme, generally they don't blitz or show any of the things that make them GOOD during the regular season. You can't even look at the first team and get any idea of how good or how bad they might be.

You might like to see all of this stuff but it still doesn't tell you a damned thing about what is going to happen in the regular season. Nothing.

No offense, but this is why people repeatedly predict the Chiefs will be 8-8, 9-7 or 10-6.

They don't watch preseason football.

They just party.

That's somewhat true. The Chiefs only scored like 1 TD in the 2003 pre-season. Alot of the stuff you see in pre-season should be corrected if the team has good coaching. Tom Brady did look pretty good except when the Eagles would blitz. It's important cuz he's on my fantasy team.

Here is a better prediction:

If the Chiefs play like crap - Dane and Mecca say "see I told you so".

If the Chiefs play well - Dane and Mecca say, "it's only preseason, doesn't matter" Or they find a player or two who looked bad and spend all their time bitching about them instead of commenting on who looked good.
