Car shopping again

There isn't shit in the Topeka market. Considering a trip to KC to try and find something.

Looking for under 80k miles and under $12k with no salvage titles. What lots would be the best to hit that aren't back woods lots.

That's all you have to do in Kansas on an out of state title. I think it's $25. The key is finding an inspection station.

To answer the original question, there are several dealers along Shawnee Mission Parkway from about Quivira to Metcalf. There are also several along I-35 from SM Pkwy south to 75th. Sounds like you'll need some BBQ, so Joe's in Olathe isn't too far away.

Got a younger sister that sells used vehicles in Abilene out of Holm Auto. I sent her a message to see if she has anything in your desired range.

Good luck 007. Factories were shut down for COVID and it sure ****ed up the used truck/SUV market. Hopefully cars are better.

I still have my van that i lived down by the river in but it needs a new transmission and it would cost at least 3500 but I can't get a loan for a tranny like i can a vehicle so I'll just see about getting something that will take me fishing.
I had an 08 TrailBlazer. Thing was Bullet Proof. I wish they still made them.

Oh really? I've been at a bit of a loss as to what I should replace the Grand Cherokee with and that's one I hadn't considered.

Man, I really liked ours. It's the last full framed SUV GM made other than Tahoe/Suburban. True 4X4. Rode really smooth. Turned shorter than any car I ever drove. Nice, functional cargo space. Had the inline 6 which I wasn't thrilled about but it was never short of power when I needed it. Interior was pretty clean and tight. Wife beat it down all the worst roads and trails in the county and it held up like a champ.

We replaced it with a Traverse, that other than having more interior space (third row, the cargo space wasn't really much more) and better vents in the back for the kids, and of course less miles, wasn't as good of vehicle.

Only downside were a few of the trim pieces held dirt from the dirt roads and would run out when I washed it. Nothing deal, but needled my OCD when I washed it. And it was made in the era of GM when when they ran the doors to the top of the roof rather than leaving an "eve" or whatvever. If you hada really strong crosswind, it would make some noise on the highway. But I'm talking 50+MPH crosswind, so doesn't happen much. And if you're not on the highway it's nothing.

Maybe I just had a good one, but I had great luck with it. And my wife drove it like Andretti when she worked in Garden, and then when it became a farm truck, it got the ever loving hell beat out of it and never complained.

Took me a months to find a car I liked. Didn’t rush and didn’t pin myself to anything certain except low-ish miles, super clean, and under 20k. I ended up buying an old man 2015 Toyota Avalon Touring for 17k last week. It had 52,000 on the odometer. Wasn’t set on an Avalon but it checked all my boxes. Cruises really nice.

Good luck on your search.

Trying to avoid loans right now. Between the foundation problem we had to fix, the furnace and ac needing replaced asap, the water heater dying, and the 6 year old refrigerator already being repaired for a third time, I've had enough of financing.

All of that took place in a two month stretch.

My daughter recently got a used Accord from the Honda dealer in Olathe.
Someone had just traded it in and they had work to do before they put it on the lot (had some light bumper damage). She put a deposit down on it and got it after they finished the work,
They said that, these days, they sell a lot of cars like that.... before they even get on the lot.
If you don't see anything listed on a dealer's website, it probably wouldn't hurt to call and ask a sales person if they've got anything that isn't listed yet.

I marked all of my new cars at MSRP.

2 months ago i was selling them for 2000 dollar losses.

There are no more cars coming. I told my staff we are going to be watching grass grow through the cracks in the lot come end of summer.

Boyfriend is having problems finding something he likes in our area, too. Whenever we look online, we usually end up widening our search to within 250 miles of Springfield.

Did a search based on your criteria, went to $13000, cause you may be able to negotiate, and 80,000 or under.

Edit: it wouldn't save the filters, so go to the slide bars on the left side and move them for miles and $... Good luck.

I had an old Studebaker with a similar issue, bought it in Texas and brought it back to Missouri. Turned out there was water in the case where the starter turned the flywheel, when it was cold enough to freeze it would just click buzz. once it warmed a bit it would start fine. Took the starter off several times before I realized the problem and got it drained.
