Ten Things About Last Night’s Game: Week 14 Kansas City 23, Cheatriots 16

10. I’m gonna have to give you the speed metal version of the Top Ten this morning. I’m writing this from the 20th floor of a hotel room overlooking a foggy, whiny city of Boston. Mrs. B and I were amazingly fortunate and were able to take a last minute vacation three day weekend in Boston, and got to go to the game. So I was there. When I get back to Glorious Independnece, MO tonight to the Stately Wayne Minor Batcave, I’ll be able to post more details about everything. For now I’ll just give you some quick impressions and thoughts. For my first impression, here’s one of the Patriot fans sitting near us: “Ehhhh F*uck Paaatrick Maaahomes. He’s a poseur.
Braaaaaaady.....Braaaady.....(repeat until speechless after losing).

9. Gillette Stadium makes me appreciate Arrowhead. It’s out in the middle of freakin’ nowhere, traffic in is a bitch and the stadium sits next to like a mall with a movie theater and the Cheating Hall of Fame. The security is super lax compared to Arrowhead. They didn’t check us over hardly at all. The lower bowl looks like a college stadium, like Faurot Field at Mizzou, where you walk under the bleachers for the concessions and bathrooms. It was dingy and not nearly as nice as our crib. The upper deck is incredibly steep and high up and I’m sure on a cold and windy day it's murder up there. We were sitting low, so the wind wasn’t that big of a deal. I’ll post some pictures later.

8. I was listening to the local Pats radio broadcast in my little pocket radio during the game. No Mitch and TOUCHDOWN....KANSAS CITY. The Pats color guy (Scott Zolak: https://985thesportshub.com/patriots...cast-team/)was an obnoxious asshole. In the second quarter he started bagging on The White Hat Jerome Boger about his poor officiating. This is way before the controversial calls in the fourth quarter. He said Boger had it out for the Pats, and should fear for his safety if he didn’t straighten up. He was bagging on their first round pick receiver Harry -Where’s 15? Is he on a milk carton somewhere? Then he started in on everyone but Brady -Where’s Edelman? Where’s Michele? Is Tom the only guy who decided to play today? Then I thought he was going to stroke out in the fourth quarter. But that’s another story.

7. Gillette Stadium has artificial turf. The front row to the field is much farther away than at Arrowhead. They have like a baseball warning track that goes around. I was in the 3rd row behind the Chiefs bench, and was probably 30 yards away from the bench. Oh, the Pats cheerleaders had a couple of flamboyant guys who dressed just like the chicks. NTTAWWT..... It was interesting that the Chiefs set up their sideline exactly like Arrowhead, and the players sat in their same positions as they would on the Arrowhead benches.

6. I’m still not sure how PMII hurt his hand, and haven’t seen any news about how bad the injury may be. Midnight Hour got up and warmed up a little, but Pat never came out. The Boston radio guy kept saying “Yeah, we’re slapping Mahomes around pretty good out there. He’s gonna be all worn out by the fourth quaaaater.” He don’t know us very well....do he? Pat is tough as Hell and is a gamer.

5. Yes, the Pats got screwed on a couple calls. Refs had a pretty bad day. That hit that Hightower put on Patrick going out of bounds...If that’s Brady the defender gets ejected. And it’s just crybaby shit to say the refs cost you a game when the Chiefs had 115 more yards in penalties than the Pats. Who got the greater amount of help from the refs? Numbers don’t lie.

4. Buttkicker was money again this week. Kicking conditions were decent, there wasn’t a lot of wind, but it was cold. Not as cold as last week against the Raiders, but cold. I’m not sure what happened on the blocked punt, haven’t seen the replay on that, but looked like a dude came right up the middle. Must have been a blown assignment.

3. The Kelce fumble was a head scratcher. He caught the ball, then doubled back for some reason -losing the first down yardage- then got the ball poked out on the way down. He should have just taken the first down then fell down. Hopefully he’ll learn a lesson from this. Kelce used to be fumble prone in past years, hope this doesn’t come back to bite him down the stretch.

2. The fans here have such a sense of entitlement. They just couldn’t process the loss, and how they lost. Yeah, they got some bad calls, but they had the ball with a chance to tie or win in the last minute and couldn’t get it done. Hell, we got screwed in the Tennessee Playoff Game when Derrick Johnson strip sacked Mariota and it got overturned. That call cost us a playoff game. So cry me a river, Pats fans. If you’re at home and complain about the refs, that’s just a crying shame. Suck it up. This is just a regular season game. Seems like when they’re not playing AFC East cupcakes, they have a hard time competing.

1. So I believe this win clinched the AFC west. This win was very satisfying, but we still owe them a boot out of the playoffs and a denial of a trip to the Super Bowl. Then we’ll be even. I’ll post more when I get home. Gotta go catch a plane in a couple hours.

I’m sitting at Logan now. Looks like the plane home is all Chiefs fans. We leave 1:45pm Boston time. We got here Thurs night, so I got to see a lot of stuff. Fenway Park, MFA art gallery, JFK Library,Cape Cod and took Mrs B to the Nutcracker Ballet complete with dancing rats. BTW I’m trying to type all this on my IPad, so please excuse misspelling and grammar I’m in less than ideal conditions here...

I'm not going to give Kelce any trouble about the weird backwards run and fumble. The guy so often makes something out of nothing and gets the first down that you have to absorb the 1 percent of the time it doesn't work out.

His bulling for the first down earlier really made me smile.

Thanks for the write up!

How we’re the fans overall? Did you get hazed pretty bad or no?

Flight delayed 45 mins because of rain here in Boston. So glad we didn’t get today’s weather yesterday. Just saw Twisted Chief here in the airport. He’s on his way back to NYC.

Glad you got to go George. That’s excellent.

I won’t lie. I was pretty upset with the officials (quite frankly more just sick of the Cheatriots shit). They did indeed get ****ing hosed on those 2 calls and maybe a no-call DPI. But we got drives shut down by hogshit penalties. It’s pretty hard to watch an important game when the officiating is that bad.

All I can say is I’m glad we won.

I worked 7 years at Truman Sports Complex, 1982-88. In my time there and in living in Chicago and now near Sacramento, CA, and seeing many different games in different places--including Oakland Raiders home games--and seeing how different sports fans react, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Boston-area fans would win any competition that would require fielding large squads of obnoxious, belligerent, and classless fans. Sure, every fanbase has nice people in it, but Boston's fanbase seems to include an extremely high number of lowlife, classless assholes who are looking to get into fights with strangers. By the way, New Yorkers are way, way, way, way, way the **** better than Bostonians when it comes to sports. New Yorkers tend to be classy and are self-assured about their place in the universe.
There's an interesting book about the part of Boston that many of those degenerate Boston fans come from, with a major theme being that poverty has really done a number on those poor bastards but they are in denial about it, https://www.amazon.com/All-Souls-Fam...5918840&sr=8-8
My mother emigrated from Ireland and got off the boat in Boston, but she lived in a different part of town. I grew up in a working-class neighborhood in Kansas City. I'm not unfamiliar with violence and what leads to it. Still, Boston fans are ****in' All Stars and first-ballot Hall of Famers when it comes to doing stupid, classless shit. I would guess that in the hundreds of sporting events I've been to, there has been only 10 times when fans did something that made me think, 'what the **** is wrong with that lowlife mother****er?', and I'm sure at least 5 of those have been with Boston fans--mostly Red Sox fans....keep in mind that the Red Sox aren't even in the Royals division, so it's not like I'm rubbing shoulders with them all that much.
By the way, the Patriots, because of their extended run of excellence these past two decades, have a gigantic number of bandwagon fans. Those folks tend to be OK. I'm not talking about them. I'm talking about the hardcore Boston shitheads, the ones that root for Boston teams the way that I root for KC teams, simply because we grew up in the same city as the team calls home and are too ****in' loyal/stupid to root for someone else.

I agree, he often gets a lot of yards after the catch by moving back towards the LOS and then spinning away fro defenders so you gotta take the rough with the smooth. Overall he had a good day.

BTW did anyone see the helmet to helmet tackle on him in the first half(?) his head got bounced pretty good. Seems like those tackles used to get called all the time but I can’t remember the last time one was called 🤔

If you're talking about the one in the back it was just below his helmet. Big hit but clean
