What will be the next major computer related "thing" that will be phased out?

Interesting things have come and gone info fashion in the PC world.

Things off the top of my head:

5 1/4 drive / disks
3.5 drive / disks
zip drive / disks
floppy disks sleves
floppy disk holders
IDE ATA (hasnt got long to go now that optical drives are on sata)

vga ( monitor display setting & port of choice for monitors )
cga
monochrome
15 inch and below displays
CRT monitors
4:3 aspect ratio

modems
900 baud
1200 baud
2400 baud
4800 baud
9600 baud
14.4 baud
28.8 baud

wired keyboards
wired mice
one botton mice
two button mice

DDR (Still used by those whom have not caught up to technology) tongue.gif
RIMM (never really took off with anyone other than niche markets)
SDRAM
EDORAM
RDRAM

AOL
Compuserve
BBSs

MS DOS
Windows 3x
Win 95
Win 98
Win ME
Win 2k

Packard Bell (In the US)

Cyrix Processors
Term "Intel Compatible"

8088
8086
268
286 (and designations)
386 ""
468 ""
Intel Pentium & beyond
AMD K5 & beyond

You would be surprised at how many companies still use tape drives for back-up. Why.... I dunno. Its all rediculously expensive but there are people who live and die by tape drives.

Also... zip was already on the list.

Wired keyboard and Mice will never go away.. Only thing that it reliable for online gaming, wireless is to finicky for online play when playing mmofps..

USB 2.0 kind of knocked out firewire, and the new firewire has not caught on as quickly..
