Andy Reid with 2nd Most Playoff Wins in NFL History

Only 5 behind Belichick, who is currently unemployed and won't win a playoff game anytime soon.

I think the vast majority of folks had backed off that a bit by the end of the combine, etc...

Remember, the Geno bandwagon was picking up steam in like November of that season. It probably peaked in January and then fell off. The duration of the Geno love-affair makes many forget that there were very few strong Geno supporters when draft season finally got here.

I was on board with the Fisher move by the time the draft got here. The one guy I absolutely did NOT want was Luke Joeckel. He got mocked to us so many times and I absolutely hated that idea. He was just so limited.

What an absolutely awful ****ing draft to have the number 1 overall pick. However, we did get the best pick in that entire draft class and we got him in the 3rd!

In a redo Travis Kelce gets drafted #1 overall and then Hopkins goes #2.

The Geno crowd was probably just a very vocal minority. I still remember Clay’s cringe, racist “gold toof dawg” and “chocolate penii” shit.

You know once he gets something in his head he basically shits and pisses it all over the board.

Yep. And truth be told, Eric Fisher ended up being a solid pick in the long run. Certainly when you consider the first 10 picks of that draft and how their careers went..

Still, even after developing into an above average LT over time, Fisher was still one of the more underwhelming #1 overall picks of all time.

I’ve mentioned it here before, but in my head I just pretend that we took Kelce 1.1 and Fisher in the 3rd. Makes that an A draft.

Well the Geno cult sizzled out badly in February bc we traded for Alex Smith and slammed the door shut. Hindsight told us Andy was right.

If I weren't so busy being a fan of a team with the greatest QB to ever live and a head coach who shits out Super Bowl trophies faster than he shits out day-old Taco Bell, I'd join a Seahawks board and give them a little Sandy Cheeks-type action for Geno.

"Want the Seahawks to draft his replacement? It doesn't matter what you want. Geno already has that nice contract you gave him. Looks like he's the true winner!"

All those dogshit niners fans who came here to spread the gospel of evil about Alex are getting their just desserts.

Deep down they were never Chiefs fans. And they likely went back to rooting for the 49ers post Alex.

And now they've watched the guy who took Alex's job absolutely ruin their lives. Twice.

No. That's ****ing false. I was never off the Andy bandwagon. From day one I cherished his presence and never wanted anyone else as HC.

And I said many times over multiple years he was just waiting for a franchise QB, and that Smith was holding him back.

And funny youtube videos are not proof of anything. Besides, that was a Pawnmower idea I executed. Ask him.

You on the other hand probably would have fired him after 2018.

FWIW I did not want Geno. Posted so many times against him in that thread
I remember most of CP understanding that Geno Smith was not a 1.1 player.

I remember CP being pissed off that the one year where we had the first pick was basically devoid of 1st round QB talent.

I remember disliking the Fisher pick because at 1.1 you shouldn't have to draft a project. It took, what, almost 4 years for Fish to look like an NFL tackle, and even when he was a "Pro Bowl" level player, he still wasn't ever very good to great. He was good good, but not great good.

I remember the fact that there was no QB talent, and no clear overall number one pick, and that because we traded away picks for a game manager (I wasn't an Alex Smith fan, ever, until he was traded and we learned how much he helped Mahomes) the draft felt even more important, and we had the first pick of shit.

We picked the turd that Reid and Dorsey disliked the least, because I can't believe Reid, or Dorsey, actually liked that we had to settle on Fisher.

Fisher probably still goes top 10. Not bad, all things considered. Lane Johnson is the only OL with a better career than him from that draft, IIRC.

Like you said, worst year in memory to have the #1 overall pick. Really did cement "because, Chiefs..."

How do we finally bottom out and THAT draft was our reward for it?

I wouldn't call that "landing in his lap"

He hired veach in Philly, brought veach to KC and they made a great move, took a huge risk and made a big gamble to grab mahomes. They traded Alex Smith away who had winning seasons after mahomes played ONE game. They redesigned the offense around mahomes , and Reid was the architect of that.

Thats not what you described. You're wrong on this.

Reeruned Buffalo Bills trade out of the spot Mahomes was drafted, and no other team drafts him earlier.

Patrick Mahomes being available with KC having enough ammo to move up and take him, yes that's extremely fortunate, and the equivalent of falling out of the sky to save Andy.

Andy was full reerun up 18 points in the playoffs and Kareem carried the football a minimal amount of times, (6 touches 1st quarter, 5 touches over the next 3 quarters, otherwise known as the Jamaal Charles gameplan) and he blew the lead trying to throw the football constantly.

Alex is shipped.

Oh I'll start this cannon armed kid that can literally make any throw, and everyone thinks it's tailor made for him and I'm some sort of genius play caller.

Lmao **** outta here. The most pass happy asshole in nfl head coaching history got the most talented thrower of the football the NFL world has ever seen. The guy could close his eyes and throw a turd at a selection of pass plays on a whiteboard at random and with 15 running the play its probably gonna ****ing work.

Pat is on record saying he couldn't even read a defense when he went 5k and 50. So don't give me this Andy made Mahomes shit.

It's as ridiculous as the Alex Smith helped Patrick be what he is shit.

Mahomes is the best quarterback in the ****ing universe, and if Andy was such a legendary offensive mind, one would think he would have a far easier time scoring points in these huge games, or at the very least, not ****ing go down 10 points in 11 of 18 contests.

Committing to weak ass running plays on first down, and the ever popular wr screen on second and long that never goes anywhere is a pretty big reason his drives get killed on 3rd and long.

Next series, right back to the shit lmao.

How long of a stretch did the Chiefs have where 3rd and 1 was an impossible ask?

You would take 3rd and 15 over 3rd and 1.

Why?

Quarterback.

You don't want Andy to leave. You said so multiple times.

Why do you want him here as Chiefs coach other than "If it ain't broke..."

Again, reading comprehension is so so SO good. You should really get some.

I'll break down your idiocy quickly as a refresher.

Wallcrawler: states any fact about Big Red face planting in big ganes, playoff record, questionable playcalls, etc..

RealSNR: WHY DO YOU WANT REID FIRED?! WHO DO YOU WANT HIM REPLACED WITH?!! GAHUURRRRR DURRRRRRRRRR *shits pants as forehead vein bulges*

Wallcrawler: Criticizing decisions, or stating fact about Big Reds career is not asking for him to be fired.

RealSNR: *pained look crosses face, more shit floods pants, and a tendril of drool hangs precariously from the left side of the mouth* UH KAY SO SINCE YOU NEVER WANT BIG RED TO LEAVE WHY DO YOU WANT HIM TO NEVER LEAVE GAHUUUUURRRRRR NNNNYAH I MADE POOPY!!??

Wallcrawler: didn't say that either.

Fact is I'm indifferent. If Andy retired tomorrow, it doesn't really matter who takes over.

Christ. You could put dilphag9 as head coach and Bwillie as offensive coordinator and your only obstacles between KC and a superbowl is dilphag9 smashing the salary cap to bring OBJ back as an elite paid left tackle, and someone assisting Bwillie with not turning Mahomes into Lamar Jackson as he screeches for designed qb runs in favor of plays designed for the best arm in the universe.

Andy was a flaming hot L machine in the post season pre Mahomes, presiding over blown leads of 28 and 18 points, and failing to score enough points at home to beat a team that couldn't cross the goal line.

The guy hasn't changed who he is, Patrick just puts the cape on. We go onto double digit deficits religiously, (11/18 playoff games with 15 he's down double digits.) he challenges trivial shit and stands pat and doesn't challenge when he should. He burns timeouts at the worst times. 3rd and 1 was the bane of his existence, and this is allegedly an elite offensive mind.

What, you don't think there's anyone else out there that can call some dumbass screen or draw on 2nd and long?

I think you could put any offense oriented coach on this team, and if he isn't in a diabetic coma, this team is going to have massive success, barring injury to 15.

Andy isn't going anywhere, and why would he? Discussion of anything otherwise is irrelevant. Andy could stipulate in his contract he gets to peg Clark Hunt weekly while his wife and daughter watch as he uses the grease from his half pound burger as lube, and he'd get it.

Pointing out that Andy is the same guy doing the same things he was doing pre Mahomes is simply an observation of what is taking place. I give more credit to Mahomes for the titles than Andy. That's it.

It doesn't stop you from fapping to your walrus shrine and blocking out all of his post season dipshittery.

The Andy Stans are pretty hilarious. I'm not sure if it's just because Andy's post season flops are part of that because Chiefs PTSD that the revisionists want those performances erased, or if it's just flat out fanboying.
