Ticks

Was on the couch doing what couples do in our skives and heard a scream and said 'come on babe, you should be used to the size by now.' Had a ****ing tick on the back of my ear from fly fishing.

Gonna be a brutal season for them if you live in the territory where they live. It's been a really warm winter and spring and their already out.

Here's a couple pictures to keep you on your toes. Nasty little critters to say the least.

Happy Easter CP!

Forgive my ignorance - but why the concern with the heads?

I've yanked the sumbitches out my whole life; nothing to it. Just grab 'em by the shell and pull. Then stick a thumbnail in them and giggle. Sometimes I'll end up with a little swollen bug bite there for maybe a week or two, but nothing worse than that.

Should I have gotten some kind of hyper plague by now? What's the concern with leaving the head in and do they always bury their heads under the skin? It's always just seemed like they've had a couple pincers in and that's in when I've yanked them out.

Oh, and !@#$ yourself, OP - that stuff is vile.

If you leave them in it is possible to get infected, beyond that I don't know.

I can't see any issues arising with a parasites head embedded under your skin that may have been on a snake, deer or mouse an issue. Nothing to worry about.

It's like a splinter; your body is going to kick most of that crap out on its own.

Eh, like I said - I've never done any of that stuff. I just yank the bastards out. Then again, the first time I have a pussy abscess or something on account of that, I'll probably stop.

{fingers crossed}

Infection. You've basically left a body part of another creature under your skin to rot away.

Yeah, an abscess on your pussy will teach you, I'm sure.

Make sure you remove your sunglasses, cell phone, GPS and anything else with a plastic screen. Even small amounts of DEET will pit the screens over time. I can't imagine what 100% Deet would do!

I was up riding around Cooke City several years ago and stopped at a lake to swing some fly line. I backed away from the ATV and sprayed some of the 100% DEET on. A little breeze came up and some of it drifted onto the plastic speedometer cluster, which I didn't notice at the time. By the time I did see it, it had pitted part of it out and it took me some serious work, when I got home, to save it.

That stuff can't be good for you, if you absorb it into your system on a regular basis, not with its caustic properties. I try to keep it on my shirts, pants, jackets, boots and hats, rather than spray it directly on my skin.
