****Official 2013-14 Missouri Tiger Football Repository Thread****

We have two things to look forward to this year:

1) The potential beginning of the Maty Mauk Era. Mauk represents the best chance for this program to get back to a level of respectability after horrendous QB play cost us multiple games last year.

2) The last year of the Gary Pinkel era. Pinkel's entrenched cronyism won't play in a conference this competitive, especially if he couples his abysmal gameday coaching with lackadaisical, worst-in-conference recruiting. Pinkel was the formerly adequate meal that has now turned into a four pound bowel obstruction. It's time to jam a Fleet's enema up our collective asses.

Here is the schedule. We dodge Alabama, LSU, and Arkansas in the west and the Non-con is decidedly weaker than years past.

8/31: Murray State
9/7: Toledo
9/21: @ Indiana
9/28: Arkansas State
10/5:@ Vanderbilt
10/12: @ Georgia
10/19:Florida
10/26: South Carolina
11/2:Tennessee
11/9: @ Kentucky
11/23: @ Ole Miss
11/30: aTm

Looks like 6-6. Undefeated in non-con, 2-6 in league play.

I will eventually update the OP with a list of high profile in-state recruits that decide to go elsewhere after a half-assed attempt to gain their services. The inevitable cavalcade of *** rejects, skeezers, skanks, and scalliwags we get will fill out the ranks.

Razors, cyanide capsules, and Jonestown Kool-Aid are available in the break room. Second door on the left.

Since every Mizzou thread eventually dies of AIDS, I recommend starting anti-retroviral therapy immediately. I believe Walgreens covers Express Scripts.

Premium In-State Players:

Roderick Johnson: **** OT, Florissant, MO.
Monte Harrison: **** WR, Lee's Summit, MO.
Jimmy Swain: **** LB, Lee's Summit, MO

Commitment List: From to and possibly

Spoiler!

Last night was interesting. There were three key games with big implications for Mizzou:

Georgia at Auburn. This was obvious. A Georgia win helps Missouri tremendously, but it doesn't cripple Mizzou's chances.

Florida at South Carolina. I didn't think Florida had any chance going in, so the fact this was a game really surprised me. I think Muschamp is a coward. A first-down play-action pass in the second half likely goes for 6 and salts that game away.

Stanford at USC. If you're looking at Mizzou's hopes for the national title, this game probably helps more than either of the previous two. A one-loss Stanford team would have been a hurdle Mizzou could not clear, IMO. Now, all Missouri has to do is:

1) Win the rest of its games, including a likely SEC title game showdown with Bama

2) See at least Ohio State lose. I think the Tigers can hurdle an undefeated Baylor team, but if FSU and Ohio State finish unbeaten, they're in.

No small task, right?

I don't see Missouri hurdling an unbeaten Baylor team, even if the Big XII is only a half-step better than the MAC this year. Baylor could still easily lose to Texas or Okie State

Same thing w/ Ohio State. The Big X is a miserable conference. Perhaps Michigan State gives them a game.

South Carolina needs to win out, and Oregon will have to lose.

That's pretty much an impossible order.

Yeah, it's all window dressing and premature. But if Missouri were to win out (not saying they will, just presenting the scenario), that would likely include two late wins against a top 15 team (aTm) and the No. 1 team (Alabama), as well as a third win against a top 30-ish team (Ole Miss).

I think that would jump them to the top of the 1-loss team list. SEC cachet, beating Alabama and all of that. Not worried about hurdling Clemson. And I think that would be enough to slip them past Oregon, too. Remember, the computers love them, and these three wins would only strengthen Mizzou's profile.

Really, it comes down to who the unbeatens are. Missouri wouldn't get selected before unbeaten Florida State or Ohio State. Unbeaten Baylor? It would have a good shot, IMO. Would be the same effect as Stanford hurdling the Bears in this week's rankings.

AP poll just got released.

Pretty close, though it has South Carolina lower than I anticipated.

It's almost like they penalized SC for barely beating a beat-up Florida at home...

It's interesting that they didn't so the same for Auburn who barely got by Georgia at home.

Alabama - Mizzou can eliminate them with a win.
FL State - they aren't going to lose.
Baylor - loses to Okie St.
Ohio St - loses to Mich St.
Oregon - lose to USC? I don't see them losing.
Auburn - loses to Bama.

So we are both in agreement you haven't been telling it like it is. Good to know. Also the idea of someone that allows for the possibility that Missouri can win games and not lose them by default being a homer is hilarious.

I did tell it like it is, Mizzou has bad luck. And that statement alone doesn't make you a homer, I see it in your posts, you disagree with anyone that uses constructive criticism pertaining Mizzou.
