Who's an under-the-radar WR on a rookie deal that they could trade for?

Lol. The other day I was looking at Aiyuk (stats and film), because I was wondering how he might fit into the offense. He's not OBJ/DHop or name an elite WR, but he's pretty darn good. Very physical WR that would be a difficult assignment playing press man. And then he's got some explosion to make defenses pay in terms of RAC. He'd be a very nice get, for any team.

John Lynch just said they want to keep him. Eh not sure about that. I get he’s good and they have a rookie contract QB but I don’t think they can afford to keep him.

They’re paying their guys a shit ton of money in 2024 and have no draft picks.

Buffalo and SF must go all-in this year if they're going to win the SB.

Buffalo d is old and their cap is tight

SF cap is tight and lack draft capital.

This is it for them.

Reagor and Shenault have already been traded once and we seemingly showed little interest given what they were traded for. Likewise with Elijah Moore.

Nico Collins intrigues me but I'm betting they're committing to him after trading away Cooks. Dyami Brown has some interesting tools and the 'skins have a nice WR depth chart.

So there - that's my pick. Dyami Brown as a waaaaay under the radar trade candidate. I don't really think D'Wayne Eskridge is worth a shit so I don't know why you'd bother.

It's not like Bieniemy is going to use all of those WRs anyways. Might as well send Brown back to us.

You June 1 cut Armstead.

He just never took the next step. In 2019 he looked like he might be ready to explode and live up to that draft status, then he become more of an okay IDL.

He's a fine player, don't get me wrong. But that's not 'fine player' money and a June 1 designation frees up $20 million in cap space for them.

Chris Simms made a good argument for Brown being the 2 or 3 in that draft class. Obviously NFL teams didnt see it the same way, but he has tools and is intriguing.

Damn. That's a lot of big contracts, including $7.5 million for a FB.

The tag/trade gambit didn't work out so well for teams this year.

And I think the NFL writ large is conceding that nobody can really afford two big money WRs anymore.

They're fortunate that they have the 5th year option on him. That should allow them to push this year and trade him next offseason. The Bengals with Higgins, OTOH, are not so fortunate.

They really should be looking to get him traded but they're probably also better served pushing some chips in this year, trying to get over the hump and then tagging/trading next offseason when they could certainly get someone to bite.
