Sounds fun. But you have to remain balanced on your roster.
The Texans didn't draft any WR's this year. Beyond AJ and Hopkins from last years draft you look at the roster and say who?
If they traded AJ they gotta get a WR. They did draft the TE from Iowa this year and still have Graham from last year who put up average TE #'s.
I suppose it depends how quickly they want to be competitive or just take time to build it their way.

Bingo! And I said as much earlier. The new staff gets a pass next season and doesnt have to do much to show improvement over last. They're "fine," under the circumstances with picking in the top 10 of draft to get the franchise QB they didnt get this year. Next year's QB class is a good one. Draft picks, rather than players, are the premium in a trade with them.

Exactly. Or even a 2nd for that matter. People point to the Gonzo trade as a litmus for compensation. Gonzo never missed games, AJ does, and that would have to be factored in. Id part with a 4th but nothing more than that. Id also entertain the idea of working out some sort of a trade involving Flowers. Contrary to what some believe here, Flowers does have some value, especially to a CB -starved team like Houston who has Romeo Crennel as its DC. Bringing in guys that know a system makes things easier, especially when its to the unit that will be asked to carry the team. They signed Kendrick Lewis when they had other Safety options available...

Exactly. Everyone knows that Andre wants out, Houston won't get higher than a 3rd for him and a conditional 4th is probably more accurate.

AJ is/was boss, but not sure he's a great fit here. He's old (32), has an injury history, and isn't what I'd call a separation WR. Sure, he has some long receptions where he gets behind the defense but he's more of a big-body possession WR who can go up and get the ball. A more-gifted DBowe. AS seems to prefer throwing to WRs who get more separation.

Pat Kirwan suggests Kansas City is a viable destination for Andre Johnson and could theoretically be had for Donnie Avery and a 3rd.

All speculation of course, but here's the article:

No shit.

And considering we already likely have a 3rd round comp. pick coming, it's a no-brainer. But yeah, all speculation.

The Houston AM radio guys were all over it today saying KC would be where AJ would make the most impact team-wise and personally. Said he would be most appreciated in the KC market over anyplace else. Would make KC a fringe contender. Said Houston would likely do it for a CB and a draft pick. They were speculating but Flowers name was being tossed around. They didn't know how his contract was structured though.

Said Carolina was 2nd...
