If the Colts would have known then what we know now, would they have kept Manning?

Considering the last two years he's had....would they have kept him? Should they have?

Who knows, maybe he continues to play at a high level for 2 or 3 more years?

Manning grew up in a harsh NFL that allowed defense.

Obviously Luck is going to start faster. The game is 100% in his favor.

Thats a damn fair point, but still... Manning for the last 4 years < 10 year future in Luck.

Colts don't have a great supporting cast as it is. If they keep Manning and his 15,000,000 higher than cap number they can't add anything around him.

TY Hilton and Coby Fleener aren't getting it done. Or they keep Reggie Wayne but have to lose Robert Mathis.

However, the very reason you attribute Luck's fast start is also the same reason Manning has had success in the last couple of non-defense years.

Manning was coming off of a serious injury AND Indi was unable to field a complete team with Manning's continued rising contract demands. He priced himself out of a job with the Colts.

The Colts are going to salary cap hell when Luck's rookie contract is up.

If you think he doesn't have talent now, just wait.

Manning's got 1 - 2 years left max.

He wins the Super Bowl he has nothing left to prove.

The opportunity to suck for Luck was too great to pass up.

Isray knew this and it hurt him when he cut Manning.

Luck will win a Super Bowl in the next few years.

Huge asterisk on that one win for Luck though, it was against the Chiefs afterall.

Those guys in today's NFL.........holy shit!

Luck and the Colts beat Manning and the Broncos this year, so there's that.

I think it was the right move now, but the Colts could have traded the #1 for another teams' whole draft for Luck, and built a more competitive team around Manning.

I was annoyed when Manning was cut; I was also annoyed at fans during the 2-14 season holding up signs saying SUCK FOR LUCK, but after two consecutive playoff appearances I feel blessed once again.

Yeah it is. Luck is maybe the best QB prospect of our generation. He's that good. He's got all of Manning's ability to throw the football/run an offense, and he's more athletic than Manning ever was. Of course potential doesn't get you anywhere... but Luck's is off the charts.

I think I will. Andrew Luck and the Colts also beat Seattle and San Francisco.

So basically we have already beaten the future Super Bowl winners.
