Never had one one, but grew up around neighbors who did..now have a few friends who have them. Great dogs...if I were to get a dog a basset would be a finalist.
- most live long lives
- can be either indoor or outdoor
- as for skin...to each his own

son had one for a few years. house dog.

good dog. nasty farts, but mine are killer too. i was only around it maybe a dozen times, but it was always cool. was fine around their little kid too, but you could tell it didn't like having those ears ****ed with.

i think they adopted it after it was grown up. think it was pretty old when it died.

would i have one? if it could live outside.

On my 4th one. I adopted mom's after she died and that dog lived to 23 years. But I don't let my Bassets get fat. Have 2 at the moment. 12 and 2 years old.
