1. Thinks it will come down to Cleveland and Arizona for Alex Smith. Says the Chiefs will probably involve Smith in the decision on where he wants to go.

2. The Mahomes trade actually happened in the afternoon, not during the draft (according to all of his sources). Everyone of his sources thought it was for a LB because the Chiefs thought the QBs would be gone.

3. Sees Veach as a BPA kind of guy but in a weighted system.

4. Sees KCs needs going into the draft as CB, WR and edge rusher. Still needs to get younger and more athletic at safety. Jags/Titans gameplan was run at Frank Zombo....rinse and repeat.

5. Ford's glimpse of talent was a mirage and he's a bust. He thinks that Ford is gone this offseason.

6. Sees Uchenna Nwosu out of USC, Chad Thomas out of Miami and Ogbonnia Okoronkwo out of Oklahoma as possible draft fits in the 2nd room. Said if you go look back at previous draft picks for the Chiefs....they like arm length in their rush backers.

7. Has Tarvarus McFadden, CB out of Florida State to the Chiefs in his first mock draft. Kameron Kelly, CB out of San Diego State could be a good fit as well. Kelly will work out as CB and S at the Senior Bowl.

What I think Matt Miller is missing is that the trade was probably agreed upon under the condition that Mahomes would be there. That’s the only thing that makes sense.

Half of it makes sense. I think they had the parameters of the deal in place but it was definitely for a QB. Dorsey talked about it after the draft and said that he would call the Bills after every pick to make sure that they were still good with the trade. Then when Mahomes was there at #10....they pulled the trigger.
