Post FA Week Mock Draft
This team is getting scary stacked.
A good draft like this can do wonders: 1. OG David DeCastro, Stanford Best guard prospect to come along in my young lifetime. He's assured to be a Top Three guard in the NFL, and will help the Chiefs finally find a way to neutralize massive nose tackles while keeping their athletic ZBS alive. 2. NT Alameda Ta'amu, Washington The Chiefs finally take the nose tackle I love. Ta'amu is a massive 340 lbs and runs like it; he's somebody you play in your heavy packages and base defense, and finally gives this team somebody to rely on in the middle for the next ten years. Ta'amu has plenty of two-gapping potential and can collapse the pocket on passing plays. 3. OLB/ILB/DE/??? Shea McClellin, Boise State McClelllin is less valued because he's a phenomenal player (though he is a very solid, classic Vrabel-type), and more because Crennel can do whatever the hell he wants with him at all times. Rush the dirt, drop back in coverage, stand up. He's a bit undersized, but he was a team captain and incredibly coachable. 4. OT Andrew Datko, Florida State Datko is 2nd round talent that falls to the fourth because of an injury history. He's worth taking as a swing tackle behind Albert and Winston. He can play both sides, and do so very well. Zebrie Sanders, a 2nd rounder in this year's draft, had to play the right side for a while because Datko beat him out for LT. 5. FS Trenton Robinson, Michigan State Extremely fast (4.4 speed), ballhawking safety out of the Big Ten. Four interceptions and something like eighty tackles last year. 6. RB Cyrus Gray, Texas A&M The Chiefs need some depth behind two relatively injury prone RBs in Jamaal and Hillis. Gray is a solid 210 lb runner who does nothing spectacularly, but does everything well. 7. C Adam Gettis, Iowa Undersized (280 lbs) but proficient in Ferenz's system, Pioli trusts him and so should we. He is a great run blocker but will need a couple seasons behind Hudson to gain strength and size. |
