Nothing changes your perspective on this type of situation more than having kids.

Give credit to the medical staff. That was a chaotic situation directly in front of 80,000 people, and millions watching at home.
Talk about performing under pressure. Anywhere and maybe anyone else and this would already be over. Kid has a chance thanks to them. |

It's mentioned in the OP about how to do CPR, if you're not working from home, the Red Cross will come to your work and do first responder training and I believe it's a free service. I've done the training, it's good and thank god I've never had to use it.
https://www.redcross.org/take-a-class Also you can take free first responder classes from the Red Cross and they go over things like choking, CPR and using an AED. My parents both did it when I was a kid because we had a pool, thank god my dad never had to do CPR on anyone since he popped the arms off the mannequin when he was practicing chest compressions. |

This has been just awful to watch unfold. Living in Cincinnati, I can tell you that the UC Hospital is the top trauma unit in the region so he should be getting the best care available. Hopefully this coupled with the fact that he received immediate medical treatment will allow him to pull through without any long term effects.

I donated to his charity last night. I’m not sure if it’s been shared in here but in case it hasn’t:

The medical analysis from the OP matches up well with a lot of the speculation from people in the know were discussing in the GDT last night. Such a freak type of thing to happen. I really wish I hadn't seen it live, and on a regular Monday night game, I probably wouldn't have.

How great are Americans regardless of race, religion, politics, ethnicity or team loyalty?
His charity goal of $2,500 has reached $3,500,000.

Praying for Damar and his circle of folks today all the way to his fans. Hoping they will receive any good news throughout this ordeal. Couldn’t imagine if it was one of our Chiefs. Prayers Up…

Wife who works at KU where all the sickest go (CRNA and former neuro ICU) was spot on last night so you can take this as truth. Says they probably did scans last night which can reveal potential physical damage but that they won’t really know how his brain is impacted until they wake him up, which she thinks will be today, and they’ll wake him up slowly.
Says if no damage he will basically just be fine when he wakes up as far as brain activity goes. But says even then would need some heart tests, procedure maybe, pacemaker, etc. Also says worst case scenarios are still a possibility for when he wakes up such as paralyses, severe stroke effects, etc. but that if he was being given good CPR acted on quickly these things are greatly reduced as possibilities. |

I keep visualizing an AP photo of him sitting up in his bed smiling, giving a reassuring thumbs up while surrounded by hospital staff, family, and/or friends/teammates. It's all I see.
