I disagree.

I think he's perfect for the college game for the same reason he's flawed in the pros.

He's a great positional coach and evaluator of talent (in fact I think his great mistake will be not being a GM.)

He just can't compete at the NFL level as the game goes on. Time management is garbage and he can't adjust (at all) at half time.

College game is perfect for him. 1st down is a TO and a strong minded black coach is good for college football.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

It's like the Truman show. He thinks he's living a normal life. We tune in for comedy.

He was a shit talent evaluator. He hit on a couple picks, but man he picked up a lot of dudes that could absolutely not play. The idea that he is a good talent evaluator is pure myth.

Naturally I can't let moronic shit like that stand. So I got into it with him and one of his postulations was Squrimin Herman Mother****ing Sack of **** Edwards had sooooo many guys play 3 years after Squrimin Herman Mother****ing Sack of **** Edwards was fired because of young and all that.

So I went through Squrimin Herman Mother****ing Sack of **** Edwards' final roster and Vermiel's final roster. Miraculously, Vermiel had MORE guys play 3 years than Squirmin Herman Mother****ing Sack of **** Edwards did. Bottom line is though, Squrimin Herman Mother****ing Sack of **** Edwards' roster was remarkably bad. Just horrible from top to bottom. Even in his vaunted secondary, it was shit.

Time fades the memory of just how horribad Squirmin Herman Mother****ing Sack of **** Edwards' roster really was.

Miraculously Turk was one of the longest tenured Herm picks - because Gunther is reeruned.

I loved the homer crowd during the Herm era.

Tank and Turk, Pollard and Page, Carr and Flowers...they were all going to be Pro Bowlers and 10-year starters.

The best players on those defenses were still guys Vermeil drafted...DJ and Jared Allen.

I'd have to look it up but I think he was a Vermiel ST guy. That Herm thought could play fullback. Because Herm is a GREAT talent evaluator

I can't think of a position I would hire him for. How does this happen? How does that guy nail an interview?

The AD for ASU is Herm's former agent. Herm's other former agent is assistant AD at ASU as well.
