Andy Reid got thoroughly outcoached

Belichik didn't do a damn thing different then what he's done the last 6 weeks of the season and Andy Reid completely choked. No gameplan whatsoever. 37 yards of offense in the first half and I put that on Reid not Mahomes. He went the first 2 quarters without running a single bunch set, a single rub route, not once did he move the pocket, and only once did he run a play action pass. Not a single screen and no misdirection. He was dropping straight back in shotgun against a blitzing defense when he has a QB that can move.

Andy actually made Belichiks defense look like the '85 bears for a quarter.

I'm gonna have to agree with the folks in Philly who hate on him so much. Reid just doesn't have it.

How many possessions did Reid get in the 1st qtr?

Oh just one.

Again, thanks to Bob Sutton.

**** you Andy Reid and Bob Sutton.

Hill and Kelce combining for 4rec 65yds and the offense having only 30yds rushing on 10carries is inexcusable.

And that last OT drive by the defense was the most saddest display of football I've ever seen.
They changed nothing that entire drive. Nothing. Hell, the Pats ran the same ****ing play on all the 3rd and longs. it was embarrassing and insulting, all at once. ThenSutton had the audacity to act pissed when they scored the last TD. The **** did you think was going to happen, Bob?

3rd and 9, 3rd and 10, 3rd and 10, all converted on that OT drive, 2 of them on slants to Edelman the other on a slant to Gronk.

Sutton's high school defense takes away much of the noise advantage from being at Arrowhead.
Yep. There are very few good defenses left in the league, and there is no one magical scheme. Only thing all but the best Ds can do is occasionally fool the offense by changing things up.

Our D situation is kind of a disaster. Bob Sutton as coordinator. A bunch of salary / dead money for over the hill guys, and not much young talent.

You double Edelman, put a LB on Gronkowski and make Hogan or Dorsett beat you.

Any of our linebackers would get destroyed by Gronk.

Edelman should have been doubled on key plays though.

I wonder if DOD would have made a difference in this game.

Is DOD covering Edelman? Then no....he wouldn’t have made a difference.

He couldn't have been worse than Hitchens, who was constantly out of position or getting beat like a drum by their offensive line. I hope DOD relegates Hitchens to backup and special teams duty next season, frankly.

I don’t think he got out coached. Defensively sure, but that’s been the issue all year.

He had 2 leads in the fourth quarter and out 31 on Bill in the 2nd half.

I agree that we simply did not use our speed to our advantage and that is on Reid.

They doubled Hill, played press on everyone else, and then rushed Mahomes with the rest. By the time another receiver outside of Hill broke free, Mahomes was already under duress and being sacked or pressured forcing erratic throws.

Screens, misdirection, dink/dunks stop all that blitz bull shit and we did none of it early on.

It was ESPN or NFL Network or one of the channels that talked about it... they actually did run a different defense on that final 3rd down play, they switched to a single high safety, but Brady obviously made the adjustment to beat that too.

Against the Colts, Kelce had 7 receptions on 10 targets for 108 yds. Against the Pats, he had 3 receptions on 5 targets for 23 yds. Chiefs almost always win when Kelce gets 100 or more yards. The Pats had a CB on him most of the time. The offensive play calling didn't seem to favor Kelce in that match up. I would like to think that Reid could have made some adjustments to find better opportunities for Kelce. Especially since they were double-teaming Hill most of the game. Of course, Mahomes was running for his life a good part of the time. That didn't help.

I like Andy Reid as our head coach. I hope he grows from this and makes some tough decisions on his coaching staff to better the team. Go Chiefs!

I never said Sutton wasn't to blame but the title of the thread is about Andy. We spotted the Patriots a 1st half lead and then spent the rest of the game trying to catch up. The entire team should have been better prepared.

We've led the league in penalties all year long. We've been top-10 in penalties for the last 3 years. Maybe if Reid had dealt with all our undisciplined play before now Ford and the rest of the team wouldn't continue to make all these stupid penalties.
