Current Draft order and our possible drafting range

apparently depending on what happens in the last week of the season we can pick as high as 14th or as low as 22nd.

Code:
December 28

Selection order if the 2005 draft were held today; opponents'
combined W-L records based on all 16 opponents

x indicates tie to be decided by coin flip
                      Opps'
# Team W-L W-L%
1 San Francisco 2-13 .483
2 Cleveland 3-12 .588
3 Tennessee 4-11 .521
4 Miami 4-11 .546
5 Arizona 5-10 .463
6 Chicago 5-10 .471
7 Tampa Bay 5-10 .475
8 Washington 5-10 .479
9 San Diego 5-10 .517 (from New York Giants**)
10 Oakland 5-10 .575
11 Detroit 6-9 .500
12 Dallas 6-9 .504
13 New Orleans 7-8 .475
14 St. Louis 7-8 .492
15 Houston 7-8 .504
16 Carolina 7-8 .508
17 Cincinnati 7-8 .533
18 Kansas City 7-8 .550
19 Minnesota 8-7 .479
20 Jacksonville8-7 .538
21 Baltimore 8-7 .550
22 Seattle 8-7 .450
23 Green Bay 9-6 .467
24 Denver 9-6 .492
25 Dallas 9-6 .504 (from Buffalo*)
26 New York Jet 10-5 .517
27 Atlanta 11-4 .429
28 San Diego 11-4 .483
29 Indianapolis 12-3 .496
30 New England 13-2 .496
31 Philadelphia 13-2 .442
32 Pittsburgh 14-1 .475

* Buffalo's 1st pick would be #56
** NY Giants 1st pick would be #40
if we lose we move up 1 slot for every other 7-8 team the wins.

our Drafting Range depending on who wins and loses is in red

we lose the tie breaker with every team but Baltimore.... next tie breaker is coin flip i believe.

Games that impact our draft position

WEEK 17
NY Jets at St. Louis 1:00 PM
New Orleans at Carolina 1:00 PM (doesnt matter, both count)
Cleveland at Houston 1:00 PM
Cincinnati at Philadelphia 1:00 PM
Jacksonville at Oakland 4:15 PM
Miami at Baltimore 1:00 PM
Minnesota at Washington 1:00 PM
Atlanta at Seattle 4:00 PM

Teams in blue might help us get a better draft pick if they win.

If New Orleans won and we lost that would impact it wouldn't it? Am I drunk?

new orleans plays another team(carolina) who is also 7-8 ... we lose the tiebreaker to both so they cancel each other out so we can't get the 13th pick.

Actually in a miracle scenario they could tie which if we would lose would have us drafting before both of them.

How much you want to bet that we'll draft 19th, some player who could have a positive impact on the 2005 season will miraculously fall to our spot, and we'll trade down.

*edit*
And we won't take said player because he is not a "profile" guy.

playoffs dont impact draft order ... just wins and losses

the only 2 tie breakers are:

1. Strength of Schedule (we lose vitually every tie with this)
2. Coin flip

I don't believe making the playoffs can effect their draft position unless they make the Super Bowl.
