I do NOT believe Flowers is a guy you can get at 31. Therefor my point stands.

I am not comparing Palmer to the top 4-5 WRs.

And I don't see anything in this class to suggest its an outlier past the first 3 picks being a little weaker at WR than they normally are. But for the late 1st through early 3rd round caliber WRs, it looks the same as it ever does.

And history says that you take a WR in the 1st or 2nd...or you're pretty much throwing the same dart in the 3rd that you'd be throwing in the 6th. And it's a fairly shitty dart at that.

I think stacking this class at WR vs last year's is worthless as last years class was really a one off type of thing.

It was absurdly top heavy.

To be fair, it may not be a high draft pick but given the visits they've entertained so far, they're likely going to be drafting more DB's this year. Seems like something this team wants to do, just load up on the back end of the defense.

Sure looks to me like rounds 1 and 2 almost perfectly overlap with a mean that is virtually identical. Then rounds 2 and 3 overlap somewhat but with a substantially lower mean.

May not have been the case prior to 2010, but it sure appears to be the case now based on that 2nd graph.

EDIT: Unless you're talking about my later statement that all the rest can just be thrown in a hopper. Because that's fair - it does look like the 3rd round does present a substantially different animal than 3rd day picks do.

After round 2 it gets volatile and after round 3 it's basically rolling dice.

I dont disagree and this kind of confirms what I am trying to say.

Maybe Im not saying it very well. If the talent level for a WR at 31 is very similar to the WR at 63, then you dont use 31 on a WR.

Yeah, that's fair.

I should've put the hard break AFTER the 3rd round rather than IN the 3rd round.

Looks like you have a clear tier at the top 10, then another tier that really goes from about 11-60, then another tear from maybe 60-100 (as the 3rd would have comp picks) and then from 100 and beyond you're in a 4th tier of blind dumb luck.

5-25 is going to take you into the 5th round though.

If your position is hold at 31 because a similar guy would be there at 63 - I don't completely disagree.

My impression was you were looking at rounds 3-4-5 when to took your breakdown 25 guys deep.

I’d bet he drops to us then. I still think I’d prefer Flowers.

Flowers is definitely the better WR. I doubt he makes it to 31, but I'd be willing to move up for him. I'm not as interested in Hyatt. He seems to be another version of MVS.

Jalin Hyatt did the 3 cone and ran routes. He didn’t run the 40 bc he already did at the combine.
