What's your level of Tinnitus

I've had Tinnitus for years. Being around squealing Hogs and lots of firearms. Going into a sow barn with 700 sows screaming for food at the same time is the equivalent of being right in a jet engine.

But whats weird is that I'd say on a scale of 1-10 my tinnitus level was always around a 4-5.

Since I sold my farm I have no issues with loud noise but about 3 months afterwards my tinnitus jumped straight to a level 10.

I don't understand why and there's no fix. It could surely drive a weak person insane but that's not me. When I lay down at night it's horrible !!!! and i can't sleep with a radio on to mask the noise so it really sux!

And yeah I've watched all the youtube doctors that show you to beat on your head in various spots and it don't solve the problem.

There's got to be an answer. Why can the medical community figure this shit out!!!!!

Thoughts?

I am calling mine mild. I have no idea how it started.

I have used apps on a phone and they do nothing. I do not hear it during the school day because there is always noise. When it is quiet, It comes and goes.

Overall it sucks.

Have you tried drilling a hole into your parietal love or piercing your ear drum with a crochet needle? Let me know if that helps.

Heavy metal concerts weekly from 1984 to 1990 standing directly in front of 20-foot high speaker towers = a now constant “weeeeeeeeeeee...” I’m so used to it that I don’t notice it.

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

I have grown used to it and ignore it. Thanks for reminding me. Its now ringing like an annoying dentist drill.

At night tying to sleep is the worst but very low music or even a fan running seems to help.

I'm gonna call mine a 7, because when I read about symptoms and how bad it is for other people, it reads like it should be awful, but it doesn't bother me because I've had it for over 35 years. At night when I'm sleeping? Yep, ringing like you had firecrackers go off next to you. Constantly, always. But, after so many decades it just doesn't bother me.

I know exactly how it happened too, my old drunk dad (RIP) kept blasting music way too loud near me when I was very young, and the hearing/sight nurse detected it when she visited our grade school.

I'm not sure how to grade it. If I listen to it, it's louder than the TV is right now. Fortunately, I can kind of tune it out. It got notably louder in 2018 for some reason.

I went on vacation a month or two ago, and we were in some very quiet area of Glacier National Park. My wife and I both independently noticed that our tinnitis almost completely went away, which is unprecedented. It came back once we got back to the lodge. So I've developed a theory that tinnitus is somehow related to background noise or electronic waves that bounce around in urban areas.

It's annoying, but it's not bad enough for that.

The closest thing I can compare it to is cicadas in the summertime thats what it sounds like. I think sometimes when allergens are in air it worsens for me.

I dont have a clue how it happened rock concerts went to many with ears ringing for days after. Worked around heavy machinery and equipment never thought to use ear plugs in 80s.

I have no idea how to put it on a scale have no idea whose is worse or better. I do know just one day I had it and thought it would go away it never did. I went to an ear specialist and first thing he told me is basically learn to live with it. He did a hearing test in the sound proof room thingy and my hearing was fine for my age. I left with handout material on how to cope and sent on my way. About 2 weeks later I received a 250 dollar bill that insurance didnt cover. Fought the insurance to no avail payed and just deal with it.
