I broke down and got one of these just a few minutes ago. If anyone has one and has some tips, this is a good place and I'd really appreciate it. I really loved my Instinct, but everything pointed to this phone giving the iphone a run for the money.

Sprint GPS is a huge feature for my money, and the NFL programs available kick ass. This phone has an OS like nothing I've ever seen on a cell phone. It is just ****ing ridiculous how easy it is. The screen is brilliant, and I love the pinch feature to zoom in and out ala the iphone.

There are some definite downsides to it. The keyboard is ridiculously small, and it should be horizontal rather than vertical. There aren't many apps to this point but the phone just released yesterday so I'm confident that will change. No video playback to this point, but it's coming from everything reported. It also has 8gb of memory built into it, but no expansion port for memory cards. That really sucks for people like me who use their phones like an Ipod.

Overall, I think it's smokin right out of the box and is only going to get better as we move forward. It's definitely the best phone on the market right now outside of the Iphone, and certainly Sprint's best option IMO. Anyone have one? Anyone gonna get one? What say ye?

It's been on for 6 hours today, I listened to music at the gym as usual, and have spent close to an hour on the phone. No other usage. 75% right now. I think that's better but since I haven't used any apps today I don't know for sure. This weekend will really tell the story.

Mr. Pestilence, there is an app for the Pre that allows synching your Outlook calendar, contacts, and email to your Pre. It's called Pocketmirror, and like all apps for the Pre, it's free. This works with, or without an exchange server, but wifi is required.

Hmm.....well my contract isn't up for another year and a half and Sprint is really ****ing horrible when trying to give their customers "deals" on new phones....so it looks like I'll just wait for now.

You should be able to upgrade every 12 months now with their preferred customer marketing scheme they have going. I'm not trying to talk you into anything, just giving you the information since you seemed interested.

Yeah....but I think it would still end up costing me a bunch of money. I'll have to check into it.

Well, I paid almost $350 out the door, and it was $350 by the time I bought an OEM car charger off of Ebay. But I'll get $100 back, and can probably get 175 out of my Instinct on craigslist. That's what they're going for now, and there isn't a bunch of choices out here. So all in all, it's going to cost me around $75 out of pocket.

I think that the iPhone is a really cool toy. But the keyboard is a deal breaker for me. It's what makes it a toy, rather than a tool - and that's what I need: a tool. Now, I understand that a lot of people are probably getting what they need from the iPhone in that regard. But for my use, I just couldn't use it. I need the tactile feel of real keys. Typing on a screen would drive me to spike the thing into the curb.

I'm not trying to put down the iPhone users, because I think the iPhone is pretty awesome in its own right. But for me, I need a keyboard.

By the way... It's official. I am keeping it, even though I recognize that I'm in the beta program. But that will be fun in a way, because new things will keep coming. In fact, I'm actually considering starting a company to develop apps for this thing.

The Pre is hot shit.

I'm incredibly impressed with it's reliability considering it's less than a week out of it's launch date. I'm not giving it up. I'll buy batteries before I do that, but my battery problem is improving.

Talked to Sprint. I'm not eligible for the discount until 10/01/2009.

Then it will cost me $299.99....and I get the $100 mail in rebate. Maybe it's a good thing because then I can see how much it's improved and there will be all of the cool apps out for it as well.

Definitely not a bad thing. This is the first phone I've ever bought at launch. I came close on the Instinct but I didn't qualify for an upgrade at the time and ended up buying it on craigslist. 4 months of history is good info before making the plunge.

53% today at about the same time. I've picked up my use in the last couple of hours and think while it's less than yesterdays use, it's definitely better than it was.

I actually just discovered it today. I haven't gotten a chance to dive into it yet, but plan on it tonight. The reviews for it were awesome.
