Dak and the 2022 Cowboys

I got into a somewhat heated discussion earlier today about Dak Prescott and the Cowboys. I still hold to the belief that Dak is overrated
and folds under pressure like a cheap lawn chair. I have a very intense hatred for the Cowboys and sometimes let it override a true perspective on their playing.
How does everyone here see it? Is Prescott finally on the cusp of true NFL stardom? Do the Cowboys have what it takes to win in this year's playoffs?
What say ye?

With that pass rush, Prescott isn't needed to deliver much. They can win this season just by dominating the LOS on defense. You have to run the ball to slow their pass rushers down.

The Cowboys are legit, I think when it comes down to the playoffs they can beat the Eagles or the Vikings (or any other NFC team).

Parsons is truly a game changer for them, he can win them playoff games with the plays he can make. The only linebacker that I can think of that you could even try to compare to LT.

Also, I didn't want to mention it. But that Diggs guy is also really really ****ing good, taken pretty soon after CEH.

There are pros and cons to being the QB of the Dallas Cowboys and the publicity that comes with it. If Dak were the QB of the Browns, nobody would give a shit about his playoff record or what have you. Case in point, Andy Dalton. He never really won anything or accomplished much outside of taking the Bengals into the playoffs (which was an accomplishment of sorts on it's own, back then) but no one really cared and he's certainly not labeled as an underachiever or a "choker". But he was the QB of the Bengals. No one really cared, his contract status was never really a talking point in the media and his owner, albeit a cheapskate, pretty much kept his mouth shut.

Not so with Dak. He plays for probably the most recognizable franchise in the league, his contract has been a major talking point, and his owner brings tons of attention (wanted or otherwise) on him and his team. The only way Dak will ever be looked at as anything other than an underachiever and a "choker" will be to at the minimum, get Dallas to a SB but really, he'll probably need to win one. Too much? Sorry, should've asked to be traded to the Jaguars a few years ago.

I also hate the Cowboys, but damn they do have talent.

I'm thinking more Micah Parsons will be more of a game changer than Dak.

S+ tier: Mahomes
S tier: Allen
A tier: probably Herbert, Burrow, Hurts

then below that you might have Dak. he's capable of putting big numbers but chokes, is inconsistent, ya. He's probably a bottom B tier QB.

But I can see Parsons kind of taking over games in the playoffs and their offense just has to be able to do enough to complement their defense.

If you put Burrow on the Cowboys they would be hands down favorite to win the Super Bowl. It would even be tough for Pat to do his thing against them even.

I think they have a really balanced, strong team. Dak isn't elite, but he's probably just one level below it. I think they'd be a tough matchup for us in the SB and it would probably be a great game.

Dallas has a loaded roster on both sides of the ball. Mahomes would never lose a game with that roster IMHO.

I've been saying for a few weeks now this might be their year. They have a truly elite defense and their conference sucks. That defense might be enough to carry them far. But it is up to Dak. He doesn't have to go off, but he has to succeed in clutch moments or the Eagles or Brady will pick them off. Eagles have a lot of talent all over the field too.

NFC title game very well could end up being Philly vs. Dallas. Two NFC East teams in the 2022 conference title game? I'm guessing pretty much nobody had that scenario on their NFL bingo card a year ago, lol

Going to take an upset in the wild card round for that to happen.

It's looking like they're on a collision course for the Buccaneers in the Wild Card Round. They are 0-2 against the Bucs since Brady came to town so it'll be tough.

Personally, I actually hope they beat go far in the playoffs this year. They've got a ton of likeable guys on their squad. Their fans are the ones that are annoying.
