*.* 2014 General Fitness Thread *.*

Welcome to 2014! Now get your ass in top physical condition!

No one else started it so here it is!

**From the 2013 Thread**

If you want to get back into lifting, or need a new lifting routine, START HERE:

http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wi...inner_Programs

If you have questions about the SS programs, look here:

http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ

Keep in mind that you're a novice lifter for a longer period of time than you think you are. Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started.

Once you've reached the point where you don't make regular progress on the SS program, you are ready to move on to the intermediate stage, which can last you for a good number of years. Find it HERE:

http://madcow.hostzi.com/5x5_Program/Linear_5x5.htm

If you're a very advanced lifter (many, many years of CONSISTENT weight training), then there are lot of programs out there, and which one you pick is simply a matter of preference. If you're really that advanced, you should know what works for you and what doesn't by this point.

Fruit doesn't stick in my stomach very long. If all I eat for breakfast is fruit I get hungry as **** by like 9. Try a little protein as well and see if it helps.

/gets out of the way so the real nutrition guys can tell you what's really going on.

For more information, I've replaced the cereal with a piece of fruit, generally an apple or an orange. On most days I feel just fine, but on occasion I get the feeling like I want to throw up. I guess just an upset stomach type of feeling.

Any CP dietitians have any clue as to what might be happening to me?
So you traded one type of sugar with milk for another type of sugar and no milk?

Upset stomach could be from the acidity of the oranges.

Add some protein to your breakfast and see if things improve.

Lifetime Fitness in Leawood was a crazy cool and huge place. All the bells and whistles. But between the cost and lack of time available to us to make proper use of it, we couldn't justify a place like that right now.
I go to Lifetime in South OP. LOVE IT!

The indoor pool is great in the winter, the outside one is great in the summer. The locker rooms are what sets it apart from most places though. We occasionally shop around but being supplied with towels and not having to worry about a pad lock is a big plus. It's also super clean.

Yes. I'm trying to limit all the manufactured sugars. Is the sugar in fruits not better for you than that which you'd find in Lucky Charms?

I'm not planning on changing anything about it at this point because it's not even a big deal. I made the switch about 2 weeks ago and it's only happened twice, lasting for about 15 minutes each time. I'm just curious what's causing it..

I don't eat breakfast. It makes me much hungrier and more likely to snack prior to lunch.

I've stopped eating breakfast entirely. Just coffee, unsalted grass-fed butter and MCT oil for me, thanks.

My wife and I also experience this as well and don't eat breakfast most days as a result.

I find I'm much more likely to both binge eat in the afternoon/evening (especially late) if I don't do breakfast, and that I'm much more likely to get sleepy after lunch.

I used to never eat breakfast until I started working out first thing in the morning, now it's a must or I get straight reeruned at work.

Speaking of cereal, I'm on day 21 of keto and just yesterday I mentally ranked out cereals I would absolutely crush.
