Would you like me to step down as a moderator of Chiefsplanet?

You guys essentially voted me into this role. I wanted it. I thought I would be a good fit for the role. I've always been a mediator in life. Essentially, becoming a moderator has affected my enjoyment of this site. If you've paid attention, you'll know that I don't post here nearly as often as I used too. In fact, I've noticed that's the case with all of the current moderators, and former moderators as well.

That said, I still am here daily. I read your posts, and do my best to clean up the spam, and handle the behind the scenes issues that go on with the site every day. I don't want to step down, but the fact is, I'm aware that some folks are unhappy with the way that I've handled certain situations. I'll admit it, there have been times that my emotions have affected my decisions. That's not a good thing. I've done some long and hard thinking, and decided that I cannot make snap decisions when someone pisses me off. I'm not sure there's a moderator in the history of this site that hasn't done that at one time or another though. Ultimately, I believe that I'm still a good fit for this job, and I know Kyle is satisfied with my performance to this point.

That said, I've always believed this site is all about it's user base. No, it's not a democracy. It's a free board paid for by Kyle. But it doesn't exist without you guys coming here and posting. You are the life blood of Chiefsplanet, and you are the ones that have made it the very best message board for not only the Kansas City Chiefs, but in my opinion, the entire internet.

When I came here 9 years ago this month, I had zero experience with online communities. Chiefsplanet was the first board I'd ever joined. Since then, I still have never joined another online community. Growing up in Seattle, it was amazing for me to be able to connect with a group of people that were as passionate as I was about the Chiefs. I love this place. No, it's not what it was too me, but I don't see myself ever just walking away from the board. I may not post as much, but I always read it. You guys are ****ing hilarious. I throw a bone in there once in a while myself.

Enough rambling. I'm putting my head on the chopping block. I haven't brought this up to the other mods, or Kyle. This is my decision to make, and mine alone. If you're satisfied with my work, then vote yes. Keep me on as a mod. If not, vote no. I'm a big boy. I can take it if you don't like my style. It will be a public vote for obvious reasons. No harm, no foul regardless of your take. We can still be friends, even if you don't like me as a moderator. I won't take it personal. This poll will be open all weekend, and close early Monday morning.

It's your call. Your voice. Your will on whether or not I will continue to moderate here at Chiefsplanet. Make your voice heard.

Except the people who did that the most are among the ones who left, so while rep is probably a factor, it's not really why people left from where I'm sitting.

Why don't we disable rep completely? It's hard to ignore the correlation between the small set of people who care about rep and who most of the bad actors around here are.

You're essentially our Director of Marketing, Phil. Everything you and your hand puppet do to snuff us out or belittle us only makes us stronger. Thanks, buddy! I'm not sure what I think your nicest touch is - the mass altering of private messages or actually employing a spy to report back to you on what's going on at our board. They're both so.... pathetic and desperate, I just can't pick one! How does it feel to be Becky? Actually, Becky was never that lame. I doubt if she cared about the Planet. Just like Kyle didn't care about *snicker* fatchatter.

Selective membership is great. No trolls to stir strife or controversy. No idiot moderators who get off on strife and controversy championing trolls. No bickering, no arguing, no lowlifes, no politics. It's a haven, but only certain people make the cut. We don't care about quantity; only quality. We'll never have your numbers, but we don't want them, or need them. It's all good.

Anyway, I know this post won't last long. One of these powermad clowns will delete it, or alter it, and ban me or dump me on universal ignore or do some other horrible thing to silence me. So far, its been rep nuking, a month long ban, two week long stints on miserable user, removing my ability to change my avatar, removing my ability to send or receive PMs, and altering PMs I have sent. That's what cowards do. And hey, that's okay! If you've been wondering about me, I'm just fine. No longer being a part of the sewer this place has devolved into has been a breath of fresh air.

Oh, and by the way, I vote yes. This board absolutely deserves Flopnuts as mod. Bravo, Princess Tapout! You go girl!

P.S. I'm not Active Shooter.
Yeah, so I just read this. My reaction:

I hope you can handle the tremendous amount of pressure and responsibility that being a moderator here entails. you're unemployed so time is definitely not a restraint. I mean why look for a job when you can collect unemployment and be on this site 24/7. no wonder why you love Obama. absolutely hilarious!

Dear JD Fraz,

I'm really happy that you have found momentary respite elsewhere. Please enjoy that happiness. I didn't "employ" spies. People came to me with information that was being said about me elsewhere on the internet, most of it completely fabricated or at the very least, greatly embellished. I couldn't be happier that you are cleansed of this horrible place. Some folks here feel similarly. I'm going to cling to the happier days, when you were properly medicated. Anyway, it was really nice knowing you up until around 2012. Naperchiefs.com sounds like a really fun place. I wish I were invited though.

Your former friend,

Phil
