I HAVE noticed that they are now selling 1 liters shaped like the 2 liter and the same price 2 liters were 6mos ago.

That's what I've heard, but I'm not a cow man. Last year, there was a lot of hay in the north half of the country. Now the Texas drought has lightened, but there isn't hardly any hay in the system. As I understand it.

It's the same situation around here. There are stage II fire conditions all over the place, which tranlates into almost zero feed for the stock. Hay prices should also be through the roof this winter.
