No shit sherlock. We weren't even going to even come close to reaching it, so that's obvious.

However, for perspective, this past year, with OUT, the annual payout for tier 1 and tier 2 was about $25 million a team. Including tier 3 ESPN+ portion of payout, that was $29 million a team per year, roughly.

So, for the Big 12 to lose OUT and payout is projected to be at a minimum, $32 million, this is a massive win. When OUT announced they were leaving, lots of folks were ready to write us off and ship us to the Mountain West. Welp, Big 12 isn't going anywhere for a while, and I been banging that drum for a while on that other thread.

I will also note that the Big 12, with this new extension, deal would allow them to go back to market again before the ACC and SEC.

Finally, it deals a blow to the Pac-12, who needs a bidding war since they let their negotiating window expire with ESPN. Now with no competition, and with FOX/ESPN inventory filling up, Apple/Amazon won't have to worry about overpaying. The Pac 12 is not in an enviable position. They're in a 'take it or leave it' position.
