NFL is Rigged: Week 18 edition

The CP consensus is that the NFL is rigged. Welp, as such, I think it’d be great to discuss this week’s script.

The NFL is rigged, so this should be easy. As easy as predicting a WWE In-Ring interview being rudely interrupted by a rival with a steel chair.

Call your shot, what kind of week 18 shenanigans is the NFL up to?

Las Vegas vs L.A: Which new stadium does the NFL prefer? TWO teams in L.A make the playoffs?

Will the NFL write in a tie game sending BOTH to the playoffs?

Will they sneak the Steelers in for one last hoorah for Ruthlessraper?

Or will they write in Lamar Jackson because he generates ratings?

Will they give the most prestigious player (Mahomes) the #1 seed, or do they want to see the Chiefs in the WC round for extra ratings?

On that note, we should keep this clown show to one thread, for the sake of the Ignore Thread feature and given we have too many overall, anyway.... it's been fun, and easy enough to talk rigging the WC round and the rest of the playoffs here.

So, where are the results of this program? Where are some of the score cards? Can you produce any or are you operating on pure trust and faith? And if you are operating on pure trust and faith, that's fine.

Boooo!

We need a new thread for the WC round. This one has gone too far down the rabbit hole.

It's bad enough that Blackop had to open the can of worms with spellcasting and the dark arts, which opens conversations about divine intervention.

It really begs the question if praying before games is effective, and hell, maybe lucky trinkets and items can have an effect too.

Lucky socks, lucky jerseys, pregame rituals....maybe it all matters more than we realize.

But alas, lets stick to subjects a bit more observable such as Melvin Gordon purposely fumbling the football.

Do companies typically release performance reviews to the public?

Sure. I see stats about NFL players all over the place. We also see headlines about players and coaches being let go. Oddly enough the officials seem to get nothing said about them except that they will remain part-time employees each year.

I don't know, maybe part of the entertainment value that the NFL sees is threads like this where people guess about the topic. One end of the spectrum in "Totally rigged and scripted", the other "totally legit and the NFL doesn't do anything to influence anything, much less games". And watching the two extremes argue entertains them.

In before - the NFL doesn't listen to anything on any message board...

EDIT: I guess your suggesting they choose not to be at all transparent about that one group of employees...

The NFL is totally rigged and you can see it. The league fixes the matchups to have pairings that ensure certain teams get through and other teams are in a competitive toss-up.

This it what will happen in the NFC:

1. In the wildcard round, the only game that really matters competitively is the Rams / Cardinals. Every other game will go down as follows: Bucs will get every important call to win against the Eagles (the NFL want's Tom to host the next game). The Cowboys will get every important call to win against the 49ers (the league wants the Cowboys to play at the Bucs next week.

2. In the divisional round, the league knows the Packers will win against the two indoor teams (Cardinals / Rams), so in their eyes the matchup they want is either the Bucs or Cowboys at the Packers. The Packers will get every important call, but for the Bucs and and Cowboys, that will be the "competitive game"...they will officiate that game fair and square (similar to what they will do with the Rams / Cardinals in the wild card round).

3. The NFC title game will be Bucs / Cowboys against the Packers and it will be a competitive round (fair officiating given how they fixed the seeding). The league will not care who wins at this point.

This is what will happen in the AFC:

1. Buffalo / NE is the only competitive game (fair officiating) game in the wild card round. The Chiefs will get all the calls and so will the Bengals...I mean they allowed the Bengals to get a bye week last week with the way they setup the week 18 schedule (they did that for a reason)...the league has already done everything to get the Bengals to progress and they will continue.

2. In the divisional round, the competitive game will be Chiefs / Buffalo, while the Bengals again will get every single call against the Titans. The league will want the Bengals in the AFC title game against the Chiefs / Buffalo matchup.

3. The AFC title game will be fairly officiated between the Chiefs/Bills vs Bengals and the winner of the Chiefs / Bills will dominate that game since it is finally fairly officiated.

The league will see the Chiefs / Bill versus the Packers more than likely...should be the Chiefs.
