There is a festival in Garnett, KS called Cornstock, but I didn't know about that at the time. I picked the name as an homage to my home town in Iowa, and to my mom who is a big Peanuts fan, she loved the character Woodstock.

1500 people and only 1 sex offender.
Beats my Iowa roots.

1500 is awfully generous, that place has a serious case of brain drain. Not uncommon for rural Iowa. As is the 1 sex offender stat. Pretty sure there were 3 within a 3 block radius of my house there.
Not to be racist or anything, but a bunch of Hmong people bought one of the 2 hotels in town and according to my sources within the district they tape their underage cousins regularly. It doesn't get reported because the community is so insular. Major human trafficking along hwy 34 as well. Also, a big meth problem in general, especially in northern Adam's county. I'm reminiscent of the place, but there was nothing there for me. |
