What do you think of Carl's Jr. or Hardees? vs. other fast food places?

Hey CP eaters on the go.

CJ and Hardees are basically the same place. You ever go there?
why/why not?

What do you get there?

What do you think of their food vs other options.

Do you have any opinion of their brand? Like ads or just the place/idea of CJ/Hardees in general vs. other places? Like, who would you compare them to or rank them above/below on the fast food food chain.

Any responses greatly appreciated and will be entered to win a link to the Travis Kelce McDonald's Commercial plus all of my casino cash.

The thing about In-N-Out that sets it apart is the consistency.

I've never had a bad meal at an In-N-Out, the restaurants are always clean, the employees friendly and helpful, and the food actually looks like the picture on the menu. It's cooked to order, the meat isn't frozen and the potatoes along with the burger toppings are always fresh. I can't say that for the other big burger chains...

I think people go to In-N-Out the first time and expect some type of burger epiphany, when in reality it is just a fast food (more or less fast) burger. If you don't set your expectations too high, take it for what it is, it's hard to beat. They also treat their employees well with benefits and decent pay.

Never go. Just don't like the taste of their food. I went years and years ago when they served roast beef sandwiches.

Glad to know they still do that.

Way back when I worked Hardees in HS, we had an honest to goodness little old granny whose only job was to come in an hour early every day to get a jumpstart on biscuits from scratch. She worked 5-12, with her last hour doing the dishes from breakfast cooking. Other than that, she never did anything in the store except make biscuits from scratch all morning every morning.

I worked at a steak house in high school and college, and at some point when salad bars came into vogue they created a salad bar, which then expanded into other things.

They started making homemade rolls, and oh my, those things were tasty. Like you noted, they had some woman who could come in far before sunrise to start making them, and they were heavenly. 30 years later, I probably still carry some extra weight from eating a million of those rolls.

If Hardee's is a muscle car then Arby's would be a cross dressing Mercedes wearing leotards going to the nobody judges, ladies only gym.

You maybe right about Arby's and the Crossfire. Crossfires were detuned SLK's. Although the SRT6 had the "blown" hand me down 3.2 liter from the AMG when MB offered a 5.5l V8 that would out run the lighter and more powerful 400HP Corvettes. When the SLK had a 3.5 standard the Crossfire died with the old 3.2 V6.

Car and driver called the Crossfire: "The Crossfire is just the kind of florid prêt-à-porter that appeals to people in the look-good business."

Arby's food looks better from the outside but under it's 20 some sodium based ingredients it's not good for you. It's probably not going to kill you as quickly it's just better for you than Hardees. FWIW Although all these compounds in moderate amount is not said to be bad you but if you have any type of kidney issue some of them are discouraged in any amount*.

I don't do fast food for the same reason you mentioned but Arby's, while better than Hardee's, still had food scientists who pump artificial ingredients and processing that enhance flavor, texture, and lifespan in their products. Large amounts of salt on top of Sodium based ingredients seem to run a muck along with Soy oil at Arby's.

While you know, going in, that Hardee's will kill you, Arby's is like your soon to be ex wife poisoning you with small amounts of antifreeze.

I have fond memories of Hardee's growing up. As a teenager, I thought they had very good food, and my local restaurant had one half of a twin package named Courtney who enchanted me, so I would go there just to hear her say "ham and cheese", and possibly brush my hand as she handed me my change. But that's off topic. Let's just say that I liked Hardee's.

I have a policy against going to Carl's Jr when I'm traveling, mostly because I despise those commercials that have people making crunching and grunting and slurping sounds while they're eating. I don't wish to make those sounds and I don't wish to be near people who make those sounds and I don't wish to support a business that supports making those sounds. Their commercials also give me a distinct feeling that their food is mega-caloric, and that if I eat a small hamburger there I'll overshoot my daily calories for the next two days. I recognize that's their brand, and maybe they're right to go for the loud-eating gluttonous market, but that's not me.

Relative to other fast-food brands, I would rate Carl's Jr closer to Long John Silver's than anything else. Both places have flavorful, plentiful food that's incredibly unhealthy. Jack in the Box would also live close to them on the brand map.

I would place Hardee's closest to Arby's. Good creative menu variety and generally good food.

If they were cars, Carl's Jr. would be a 60s muscle car that looks cool, but is loud and get 8 mpg. Hardees would be a Chrysler Crossfire - good and underrated, not well known, and canceled before its time.

In-N-Out double double animal style is best fast food burger in the country. Their menu is not long and complicated. Their beef is never frozen. Restaurants are clean and employees seem to actually do their job. Whenever I am in town with an In-N-Out, I grab a double-double animal style. Better than Five Guys (other regional burger chain, although I've sen them all over) and better than Wendy's (probably best country-wide fast food burger chain.)

Hardee's and Carl's Jr.? Recipe for diarrhea. Not as bad as Krystal's, but bad enough I won't eat there.
