Let's have an irrational and angry discussion regarding motorcycle riders
You know you've seen them. Signs like this.
I'd be generous in saying that around 60% of the motorcycle riders I see are driving responsibly. I certainly watch out for those! Thank you for driving safely and obeying traffic laws. The other 40% are doing wheelies, swerving in and out of traffic, and driving recklessly. This 40% really grind my gears. But hey... Discuss |

inb4 someone makes the argument of "well there's bad drivers of cars/trucks/SUV's too"
Yes, I agree with you! However I also don't see those bad drivers doing wheelies going 70mph in a school zone. Although if they are able to get their truck to do a wheelie while traveling 70mph I'd be pretty impressed! |

There was some crotch rocket crew 30 strong rolling down Armour this afternoon. I only saw them for half a minute at the gas station and all of them were driving very very cautiously and obeying all traffic laws. Like the law that says you have to rev your shitty engine and drive like a douche.

I'm not sure that a helmet would make a difference if they crash doing 90+ mph anyway. At a reasonable speed, sure, a helmet can save your life. But at high speeds like that, the guy is likely dead with or without a helmet.

With all the people distracted or texting while driving,I would think riding a motorcycle would become a daredevil activity.

I ride mostly gravel and county roads. But cutting through town you are tense because of all the distracted drivers. The things you see people doing besides driving! The OP also making a great point calling out asshole motorcycle riders. Way to often these dumb ****s are a danger to everyone on the road |

I feel like saying you are being generous about 60% of riders driving normally is a weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee bit biased towards cagers.
As a rider myself the thing that annoys the shit out of me is seeing guys with their young kids on the back and neither one of them wearing any protection but they have the forethought to have the helmet hanging off the side of the fender on the seat lock. |

No chit. That's why every time I've considered getting a street bike, I remind myself how many idiots are out there. I've survived multiple death scenarios driving my car. I'd have been dead a long time ago on a bike.

I enjoy sitting at a redlight on a motorcycle and a vehicle coming behind me rapidly while the driver is texting. Fun times.
