Six Years Ago Yesterday...Fingered!

December 20th, 2009. Chiefs lost to the Cleveland Browns 41-34 at Arrowhead on Fan Appreciation Day.

Both teams were 3-11 coming into the day's game.

Fan
Appreciation
Day.

Yeah.

Matt Casshole was beaten by Brady Quinn.

Brady
Frickin'
Quinn.

Chiefs defense gave up 286 yards rushing and 3 TDs to
Jerome Harrison. Harrison broke Jim Brown's all time Browns record for rushing yards in a single game.

Joshua Cribbs ran back two kickoffs for TDs. Two...in one game.

Jamaal Charles rushed for 154 yards, and we still lost.

It was the first non-sellout Arrowhead game in nine years. It was blacked out in KC. it was the last Chiefs game to be blacked out in Metro KC. It was the first time Cleveland had won in Arrowhead since 1988 when Marty was the coach.

Chiefs receivers dropped nine passes in the game.

After the game, I yelled at Coach Haley that he deserved to be fired. He allegedly waved at me as he went up the tunnel from the field.

Later he told the press that he never used profane language or gestures, because he had kids at home and didn't want them exposed to such things.

Six days later, KCTV5 reported that Haley gave a total stranger $300 at a bus stop. Haley was allegedly on his way to Arrowhead the day after Christmas when he saw a man standing at a bus stop in the cold. According to the report, Haley stopped his car and approached the man handing him a stack of twenty dollar bills. The man's name was Brian Mondaine.

“He handed me a stack of 20s said Merry Christmas,” Mondaine said. Haley then got in his car and drove away.

Fan Appreciation Day, 2009. One of the worst days at Arrowhead ever.

I want satisfaction. I want payback.

I want Johnny Rehab to wave at me.

I was there. It was sunny and cold IIRC but great for football. The game was entertaining as hell. Had a blast. Even bad Chiefs games are fun most of the time.

Edit: was 44&sunny with 15mph winds

That game was a joke. Pioli was a franchise killer. (We should bring that filter back. Forever.)

The low point of the franchise for me was when ol Squirmin Herman brought in that UDFA WR in to START at QB and run the OPTION. I believe that was the home opener against the Faid and JaFatass Bustell led a 4th quarter comeback against us. In Arrowhead. In the home opener. (Provided I am remembering correctly).

All the Pioli stench was worse. But by that point it didn't matter. Because Squirm killed the franchise.

If he did flip you off you probably did/said something that made it a legitimate response.

I told him he deserved to be fired. He replied non-verbally. I had no problem with the exchange, except that he denied his side of it when questioned about it.

I always felt like I said what I had to say, he said what he had to say, fine, move on. He didn't want to get fined by the NFL so he denied everything.

And it turned out, I was right.

We could have used some Duane Rudd magic that game.
