I could see that. I think that Badger has a chance to be a camp darling as well.

I am going to say something stupid, but I'm high, as usual.

After watching a lot of his film, I wouldn't be surprised if he made the team, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him get snaps at receiver. He appears to be a more talented catcher of the ball than Gray.

I am not saying he is some offensive weapon, or a hidden gem, etc. but he is a taller target, but it's his slower speed that could actually benefit the entire offense.

Our receivers are likely going to all be 4.4 guys or faster. A slower player, who has a size advantage over most defenders, should have the least talented defensive back covering him, and the space on the field where he would be working probably isn't going to be crowded because those speedy receivers are going to pull those other defenders deep.

Imagine Rice, Worthy, Hollywood, with Kelce at TE, and Briningstool in motion. I know people love Gray, but if used properly, I feel like he could be more of a chess piece than Gray.

I appreciate Meck's dedication to his feelings about Briningstool.

I must square away a few things in relation to some points from my perspective...

JB did, in fact, run a 4.75 and not a 4.85.

Peyton Hendershot is not on our roster.

At TE, we have:

Travis Kelce
Noah Gray
Jared Wiley
Robert Tonyan
Jake Briningstool
Tre Watson

Wiley might start out on the PUP. We know what we have in Kelce and Gray.

Robert Tonyan was a collegiate WR who became a TE in the NFL. He's not a great blocker. Like JB, he especially sucks as an inline Y. He's gotta be a F type.

Briningstool is undersized a bit and struggles with inline blocking but is good blocking in space as an F.

Tre Watson struggled a bit as a blocker as well. He really struggled against speed/blitzing linebackers.

JB was Brugler's 10th-rated TE and played 4 years at Clemson. Watson was his 29th and played 1 year at Texas A&M and 3 at Fresno State. Most boards had JB around that ranking and Watson was everywhere but in the top 20 for most.

The question for me isn't whether or not JB can beat out Watson. It's also really not about his blocking because they all kind of suck ass at it. It's about whether he can beat Tonyan's experience. Making the 53 isn't easy, but he's got a shot.

CBS sports named Elijah Badger their #1 overall free agent after the draft.

We signed nfl.com’s #1 safety, cornerback, and tight end. Veach is always working

Yeah -- Warren looks like Kelce out there, IMO.

I can't think of ANYONE other than him over the last several years who has apart from him. Maybe Pitts? But even Pitts was more straight line explosion than that sort of gliding agility.

Nobody looks like Kelce. He's damn unique. Wiley actually kinda did to me, but stiffer. Which is to say...not really.

But yes, that's how he'd make the team. But he'd have to beat out Tonyan in the process.

I just think it's interesting that we gave him better guaranteed dollar figure to sign as a UDFA than 7th rounders get.

Badger going undrafted is crazy when you watch his tape. I'd be surprised if he doesn't make noise this camp tbh. He's different to the other guys in the WR room.

He's a really good pickup. It's great to have legitimate options at that position.

If he ends up making it in the NFL and if Kohls doesn't reach out to him for an endorsement deal then they are missing a huge opportunity.
