I don't know enough to have an opinion. Such a low sample size. Gotta be better than we got and he's pretty cheap.

Can’t believe this ended up being the best they could do. We gave up Thuney for a left side of Jaylon Moore and Kingsley? That’s our solution after what we just saw in the Super Bowl?

These guys have made a lot of the right moves over the years even when they appeared questionable, but I don’t think I’ve ever been as uncomfortable as I am with this current plan unfolding. I’ll leave them to do their thing, but man. Hope for the best.

Who’s the best LT we could reasonably acquire at this stage of the offseason?

Did the Chiefs make the best possible move for the upcoming season? Then that’s that.

IIRC it's supposed to be a weak draft for Tackles, so that would impact the free agent market too.

I don’t necessarily mind Moore, but I’d feel much more comfortable if Thuney was still penciled in at left guard. I don’t see why they felt the need to move on from him if they were potentially going to plug in another project at LT. Him next to a guy like Kingsley is asking for trouble. They could have moved money around and kept him another year.

I’m just saying, I’m not really sure how anyone can feel that much more comfortable with the current state of the left side of the line than they did before the offseason. You’ve got the 49ers backup LT and a raw project who flamed out at tackle protecting the blind side of the best QB on Earth. Sorry, but that concerns me and I’m not going to just pretend it doesn’t. This feels like the Skyy/Toney situation all over again and a lot of you will talk yourselves into it just like that, but they’re setting themselves up for an absolute mess.

I hope they still resign Humphries now. That would make me feel more comfortable.

Realistically it probably is. I’m not as worried about guard as I feel like it’s an easier position to draft for and also like the idea of giving wanya or Kingsley a full offseason go at it. I also like that we don’t have to give up on Kingsley at LT.

I also wouldn’t rule out still using the draft. We should take plenty of swings over the next few years. We gotta be willing and able to swing and a miss a few times. But until we get that figured out, let’s use a reasonably priced bandaid so we don’t do the bullshit we did last year at LT and two years ago at WR.

Probably the best option we had for a solid vet that could be a bandaid.

Still a mystery box.

So… I love this move. It is a bandaid. And we now have two guys who are locked in but moveable next year at OT. Much better than a long term deal with a guy we’re meh about. Best case he plays well. this gives veach the charge to overload with OTs to find good value somewhere.

Yikes. That sounds familiar. That said, I’m sure he’s an upgrade to our patchwork at LT last season.
