Was buddies with a guy who was an amateur drummer(sure lets call him that) that was enamored with the drum track to their cover of "Darling Nikki". Sure he was just a dude ****ing around on his kit in a spare room in his house, but he eventually got that track down to a T.

He had been clean since 2001, as far as I know. Heroin is nasty, lost a cousin who battled it for 15 years, but Taylor was clean. This was either a freak thing like a heart attack or an accident, or they had done one hell of a job of keeping relapses secret.

I’ve seen these guys 15+ times. Met a few of them. I just don’t believe in my heart that Dave would have allowed Taylor to keep dabbling in heroin and stay in the band. Taylor also had a young family. He was such a good dude, can’t imagine him leaving them behind for drugs.
