Nate Taylor: Chiefs targeting OT Ronnie Stanley in free agency

Quote:
When free agency begins, the Chiefs will target Ronnie Stanley, the nine-year veteran who is the best left tackle available on the market, according to sources. Stanley, who will turn 31 this month, started all 17 season games last season for the Baltimore Ravens. He earned a 70.7 overall grade from Pro Football Focus and allowed just three sacks.

No one’s going to fire Andy.

The problem is his inability to get rid of Nagy.

When he still needed to win a SB he fired Sutton and replaced him with Spags. That was young man shit.

I don’t think he has that in him anymore.

Sign Jaylon Moore right away and put LT to bed for FA. He’s good enough to provide an answer but also doesn’t preclude the Chiefs from drafting another if the right guy falls.

I’d also like to see a Ty Johnson signing to go with Pacheco and whoever we draft.

Let Bolton see what his market is and resign him if he’s cheap enough.
Worst LT situation by far of any team
Worst RB room of any team
Rashee and Hollywood out 90% of season
Justin Watson most WR snaps last 2 years
HOF TE is 35 and washed

Amazes me how uneducated fans can sit here and watch old bum ass Hopkins struggle to get open and Kareem Hunt breaking through a hole as fast as Derrick Nnadi and think “It’S NAgY” as if any coach in history could do jack shit with this slow ass old offense.

Go get some young explosive playmakers starting with my guy Ty Johnson. Kenneth Gainwell, Elijah More. Hell Demarcus Robinson might have 1 last year of juice to be a role player. Then draft more young weapons.

Carson Steele started a game last year. Justin Watson was WR1 for a month. We didn’t have a LT on the roster. Can’t happen again. It’s malpractice when you have Mahomes

I’d sign up for Ty Johnson and a mid round pick. That would drastically change the RB room. We need burst again.

I also wouldn’t hate another WR like Felton in the draft.

Could be a really nice set of weapons compared to last year.

These are rarely the type of signings we achieve.

You put prime Tom Brady in that super bowl and he gets his doors blown off just as badly. Maybe worse.

They won the Super Bowl back-to-back years despite most of what you wrote. When you win, you overlook your faults. Not that Veach or Reid didn't know they had question marks. Of course they knew. In fact, they signed Hollywood Brown and drafted Worthy to revamp a weak WR room. They didn't do enough at RB because that's just not a position Reid cares about anymore. They overshot at LT thinking that Kingsley would be a steal as day 1 starter. But they didn't do anything major because championship teams don't make big moves often. It's after losing that teams get more desperate.

I don't blame Nagy until we learn which plays are called by Reid and which by Nagy. Also, Nagy doesn't make decisions on free agent signings or trades. Reid does.

While most of what you say here is true....I do have one question.

You refer to...as have a few.others....the "uneducated fan"....what would your definition be of the uneducated fan?

I get that some people come in and make outlandish comments....those are easy to spot.

But what makes an uneducated fan?

I'm not just talking about the Super Bowl.

I still think he's the best QB in the league but he has regressed. To say he hasn't is just being in denial.

No coach in history could do anything with Hollywood, Worthy, Hopkins, JJSS, Kelce, Gray, Pacheco and Hunt?

Meanwhile, KC had one of the most efficient offenses in NFL history with Kelce, MVS, Watson, Skyy Moore, CEH, and Smith-Schuster as the clear #1 WR.
