I've been seeing people say some version of this, like Vernon, but it all seems like cope to me. Flory was the canary in the coal mine. Nobody is jumping to transfer to a school that had to beg their best player to return because of how bad the coaching decisions were. Maybe you might get more money at KU for one year, but as Storr and Griffen would tell you, it cost them plenty this year to make up for it with how much their stock dropped.

I'm more bummed about losing Williams than I am Sarr.

I'd still expect money would trump all. It did with Flory too or he'd have left for sure.
