Yeap, pretty much what I've been saying. Xbox One is trying to progress and is banking on a certain future. It might fail, we'll have to wait and see. Steam for consoles would be beyond amazing, though. Pioneering is never easy, but if everyone wanted to stay with status quo, well... the world would be pretty ****ing shitty.

I love Steam save for one small item....

The fact that you can't have multiple profiles for one game like you can on Playstation and Xbox. My kids gripe about that all the time because the games are purchased on my Steam account but they don't get any of the achievements when they play them.

Yeah, but I don't know how you could enable lending digital copies. Maybe treat a DRM license like the disc and just trade it back and forth between accounts? I think this is why the Xbox is trying the whole "10 people can play your shit for free" thing. There are not too many families with more than 10 members. I also don't think there are any of us who lend games to 10 other people on a regular basis.

As far as the always online thing, that isn't my issue. I just don't choose to put my money on it because it is unnecessary IMO. For now anyway, I feel PS4 is the better buy because I think Sony's exclusives have always been better than Microsofts exclusives. Not saying my opinion won't change in a couple years though.

There is a catch though, I have read that if one of your friends is playing a shared game the rest of the games from that specific friend's collection is off limits until you are done playing a shared game. So for example if I am in Frank's group but Brian is playing a game from Frank's collection I can't touch ANY game while Brian is playing. That isn't confirmed but there is strong speculation that that is the catch. I also don't really have any friends who game (in my late 20's) so I am not sure how well this would work out for me. I don't want April to roll around and see that NBA Live and Fifa are still 60 bucks on Xbox.

PS4 is becoming more appealing every minute.

I think he's saying that as a pure gaming machine, PS4 is better. But if you want the Minority Report future (with Steam for consoles) in your living room, Xbox One is the first step in that direction.

Here's another huge question, BTW, is Sony still going to have local hosts?

The only thing I have read is that the only catch is if you "loan" your game to someone off of your library that you can't be playing the game at the same time. Which to me sounds pretty cool. its like loaning a game without having to worry about never getting it back lol

I know PS4 plans on having a cloud. Who knows what they plan on doing with it.

Anyway, what outside of software updates stands in the way of Sony doing anything and everything the Xbone would do? It already has superior hardware. To me it seems like a moot point. If that's the direction the market goes, then Sony will be able to deliver.

Coming from a network and interface standpoint Xbox is already leap years ahead imo.

Having a cloud to store saved games is one thing and having enough servers to get rid of local hosting is another.

And it's true, if Sony's Eye can do the same as Kinect 2.0 and it can interface with tablets, I think the PS4 can follow suit. I'm not a business major or anything, but I think that being the first on the market with something new and desired is usually a huge boon for any company looking to compete in said market.

It's all going to be moot, though, because money talks. 25% difference in price is huge and will probably make all the difference when it's all said and done.
