Both online and live. I like Omaha as well. Hubby taught me. He does much better than I, but has been doing it for eighteen years longer than I. The nearest casino to us is in Kentucky, so the 'live' is limited to some poker nights around the house and the once a year trip to Vegas.

I can't believe what a phenomenon it's become.
We have a pokerleague up here... NWpokerleague.com. There are over 2000 people in the league, and the top 100 play in a "100 man" tournament for the right to win a $10,000 buy in at a WPT tournament at an Oregon casino. Unfortunately, I got in late and am having to play catch-up. I've played five tournaments so far, and won two, so I'm doing alright... I'm ranked 245. If I can manage two more wins this month, I will make the cut.

Sometimes when I'm at my busiest poker night at my friends house is the one thing I have to look forward to during the week.

OH YEAH!
I'm becoming quite the player, and play in regular games about twice a week on average. I play online at Bugsy's Club in their free rolls and occaisionally in a cash game. I also have become an avid poker book reader and watch it on TV all the time. Last night I was the biggest winner at a cash game at an old high school buddies house. Last night I had a dream that I was heads up against Doyle Brunson in a small limit cash game. There was only about $500.00 on the table, and I was small stack. I actually got totally sucked into it and thought it was really happening. I was all nervous and sweating... He started pushing me around and I came back over the top on him with a really crap hand. He sniffed me out and called. Then I drew out on him (caught a lucky river for two pair). So then I was big stack. A couple hands later the flop came J,J,2. I had pocket dueces (full house). I checked it to him, and he bet big. I moved a HUGE stack of five dollar chips onto the table. He called. The turn came (2). Giving me quad twos. I checked. He moved all in. I called. I think he had J,Q. Then he smiled and shook my hand. I felt like a pig in shit. I kinda felt guilty about giving him two big "bad beats" in a row like that, but hey. I just beat Doyle Brunson! Then, of course, I woke up... |
